Daily Kos: Rush Limbaugh Mocks an Obese Drug Addict

On today's show Rush Limbaugh got in a couple of digs at the embattled mayor of Toronto, Rob Ford.
Apparently completely deaf to irony in his own words, Limbaugh made a snide reference to Ford's drug problem before taking aim at his obesity:
Now, this is the guy who admitted he got drunk and, what, he smoked crack?

Yeah, he smoked it in a "drunken stupor," and he refuses to resign, and they're trying to strip his powers as mayor away. His brother's backing him up, but he won't quit. He's a big, obese guy. He looks like Goldfinger with about, oh, 50 or 60 extra pounds, maybe a hundred extra pounds or whatever.

Seriously, is he operating in a vacuum?

You telling me you cain't tell the difference between the two?

They're both on the overweight side of the scale.

But one of them looks more like Chris Farley than the other.

Or are you sayin you can't figure out why it's worse for a mayor to be a crack smoker than a talk show host being addicted to oxycodone?

Yes.

Just like the one between his ears.

I wonder if he ever has the sense to at the very least, be embarrassed (if not actually ashamed.)

You guys do know Rush lost a lot of weight a few years ago, right?

He's still overweight, but it doesn't look like he's obese. From Nov 4, 2013:

NO, not when the Oxycontin addict stated that all drug users should be jailed.

Okay, you gonna have to decide whether to act hypocritically or not.

Rush erred when he got hooked.

You embrace that error.

He obviously erred if he called for ALL drug users to be jailed.

But why not embrace the possibility he erred when he said that, if he did?

The only vacuum seems to be in the heads of the radical left. Rush is just a voice on the radio. He has no political power and his personal life is not an issue. Why can't lefties understand the difference between media personalities and the people who have the power over life and death? Does hatred get in the way of reason? The mayor of Toronto is an elected official and paid by the (and judged) by the public.

It's worse for a mayor to smoke crack.

Syndicated radio personalities are not elected, and they do not swear to uphold the laws of the city, state and/or country.

Plus, Rush admitted it, treated it, and has moved on. How long ago did he get busted? 15 years? Was he ever convicted? I thought he did the diversion thing....

They don't. They operate from a position of no information.
