Where's the sweet spot?

I'm thinking right about '50'.

That gives a good blend of experience, and youthfulness IMO. Old enough to have a lot of years of experience under your belt, but still young enough to have a sharp mind.

56-64 is the sweet spot, not just from a health perspective but from an experience and leadership peak. 65+ won't have the stamina to handle the toughest most stressful job on the planet and 80 is not only crazy, it's dangerous.

35-60 maybe? Under 70 perhaps.

You kind of need a larger gap to account for differing opinions/good candidates.
