He bragged about his role in getting Shokin fired, but Shokin was someone a LOT of people wanted gone. Not just the Obama Administration, but Republicans in Congress, the European Union, and the International Monetary Fund. Kind of reasonable, given that two of Shokin's deputies were caught with millions in foreign currency and uncut diamonds in their homes and no explanation of where they came from.

Getting rid of Shokin wasn't a crime, it was the stated policy of the US that we were committed to reform in the Ukraine as a condition of aid.

Unnamed Republican lawmakers allegedly fear “there’s no evidence” of wrongdoing against President Joe Biden to open an impeachment inquiry, Politico Playbook claimed Wednesday.
Politico, which continually works to suppress the Biden family business scandal, wrote an article in its morning newsletter that suggested some Republicans are concerned about the lack of evidence against Joe Biden to open an impeachment inquiry.

An impeachment inquiry, however, does not require a full House vote. In 2019, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) did not require a full House vote to open an inquiry into former President Donald Trump.
The purpose of an impeachment inquiry is to gather relevant information to justify an impeachment trial in the Senate, according to McCarthy.
“There’s a lot of questions still,” McCarthy said Sunday. “And to be able to get the answers to these questions, you would need an impeachment inquiry to empower Congress, Republicans, and Democrats to be able to get the answers that the American people deserve to know.”
Powerful allegations continue to mount against the president. The allegations include, but are not limited to, photos, texts, an audio recording, and IRS and former business partner whistleblower testimonies:

The allegations demand an immediate impeachment inquiry, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and House Judiciary Committee member Harriet Hageman (R-WY) told Breitbart News.


Commentary:
While RINOs are definitely a problem in their own right, the whole "unnamed Republicans" or "unnamed sources" meme is just a common trope among desperate Maoist Democrats and their fellow travelers in the "Medio" to make up "credible people" who say exactly what they want them to say in an effort to invent evidence where there is none.
Just remember how many "unnamed White House sources" the media found during the Trump years that always seem to echo leftist's personal beliefs instead of reality.
They understand full well what a serious inquiry into influence peddling would unearth. We know they're all dirty. It's more likely they're all complicit to this somehow.

The RINOs are the fascist Trump supporters. They need to be gotten rid of. There are numerous Republicans who have spoken out on the record that there is no evidence to warrant a impeachment inquiry. Clearly McCarthy did not have the votes so there are Republicans who disagree. There is no evidence of influence peddling.
