Talk about ludicrous. We have more security out of neccesity, not just because. I'm not that old and I remember when cockpit doors were open and a person could just go in and seethe captain.

But I also remember reading about a time when the POTUS could ride through a major city in a convertible.

Times are more dangerous now than they once were, more security is a necessity. That doesn't mean the government hasn't gone overboard, the government always goes overboard, it just means that saying "hey we used to need no security, and it's your imagination that we do now" is just silly
