I believe she was fired because both her employer and publicist asked her to knock it off, and she didn't....That would mean she was fired for insubordination, not anything she tweeted.

Freedom of speech doesn't exempt you from the consequences of that speech.

This came up in another discussion on the topic. I don’t believe Carano was ever actually warned by Disney about her tweets. She was asked to apologize for one tweet in the past (the one about trans pronouns) but was never warned by them about her tweets in general.

Also, unless I misunderstand the role of a publicist, I don’t believe her publicist is her boss or superior. If that’s true then she could not be guilty of insubordination.

As to the issue of insubordination, this would require Disney to give her specific orders as to what she could tweet or not tweet. But how could they do this without incurring a lawsuit? It’s her private Twitter account, after all.

This of course raises the next logical question: If they did NOT give her specifics as to what to tweet or not tweet (Ex. “Don’t make comparisons of the treatment of people for expressing political and social opinions to the treatment of Jews in Nazi Germany.”), how can they claim insubordination?

I don’t believe she equated the two. Her point was that government anti-Jew propaganda turned German civilians against their Jewish neighbors.

It all started “innocently” enough with mild contempt that resulted in Jewish businesses being vandalized and such. But then it grew to full-blown hate and thence to violence and outright murder.

The point is that it is a very short step from social media shaming to pogroms. In this country, liberals appear to be oblivious to this fact.
