Play the All Star Game in Delaware

If you are going to lose hosting an All Star game, this is the year to do it. Normally, in the absence of a pandemic, cities clamor tho have an MLB Alk Star game so you can have 45-50k fans in a sold out park. That’s not happening this year. Anywhere. So, in honor of the President, have the game in Delaware.

You do realize the Delaware Jim Crow laws are way tougher than the Georgia Crow laws.

you need to re-read my post. My suggestion to move the game to Delaware is a mockery of Biden since Delaware laws are more stringent than Georgia.

Why not. MLB diminished everything great about the All Star Game over people not being allowed to received water and snacks FROM a campaigner within a 150 feet of a polling place. Who cares where the game is played or if it is played at all.

What if it is the spouse of the person in line that gives it to them?

my understanding is that it is permitted provided the spouse or any other person is not a campaigner.

The ASG has nothing to do with the POTUS. You don't play it somewhere because it's somebody's home state. These games are set up years in advance, and furthermore the ASG is slated for Philadelphia in 2026 so that would be redundant, as Delaware is a suburb.

In practical terms what they might consider is playing it in LA since that's next year's site -- just move it up a year.

It's easy on paper, but it's a tangled web to weave, logistically.

It's all moot now, as MLB has just announced the game and its ancillary events, and the draft later, will be in Denver.

I was under the assumption that they alternate each year between an NL city and an AL city but apparently not, since the link mentions how Dodger Stadium is the venue in 2022. Still an AL city but NL venue.
