Permission to speak freely for a moment. Isn't anyone who plays the "Dem vs GOP", "My team vs your team" just a big sucker?

In Canada, I have taken a specific position of NOT taking a position. Hell, I am even *gulp* at least listening to the NDP of late. This part had been pure socialist is the past but is not today.

I say listen, because I believe a Party can evolve and find a plane in which maybe I can support them. Even if it were a case of voting for the "least worst candidate", I have to listen and compare what makes most long term sense.

In the U.S, you have the same issue, maybe worse. I would probably lean GOP if I voted, though only with those who are economically conservative per se, and also because they appear to be the only party today that has some libertarians.

That doesn't mean some Dems don't follow similar principles. Which is why Manchin has been so successful in keeping his seat I suppose. It doesn't mean some Dem policies wouldn't appeal to my sensibilities, just as I know that some GOP would not be of interest to me (except maybe in a time of war and dealing with terrorists).

Am I right or wrong? Are those who loyally support a Party regardless just suckers?

Politicians have divided the nation so much that Americans argue with each other over whose politicians are LESS criminal / seditious/ treasonous instead of holding them all to the same standards.

Yes... that's why I went in for Trump twice to try and find someone in a leadership role that could change the way government works for themselves and not for us....
He did some good things for us and America and so many hated him for it....
Today we may as well have clinton or bush or obama or some other puppet for the swamp...
Have any of you counted the dollars sent abroad?....
I don't get it I hope some dem voters will wise up by November and see that their party has gone too far.....

So the way it works here in the good old US of A is one side of the aisle threatens freedoms and privileges of voters from the other side, while the supposed good guys feign outrage and promise to protect them from the evil other side. It is an eternal game of good cop/bad cop. The best kept secret: both sides are in it for the same goal: total government domination over the people. One would think most Americans bright enough to figure this reality out at an early age. To this I respond: Ha, HA, HA!

In a word, yes. There's gotta be some accountability, did these guys that we elected do their jobs or not? Did we get the results we were promised, or were we lied to? I mean, I get it when the other side doesn't cooperate with your agenda. Both sides do that cuz the agendas are so different, or maybe it's the solutions to the issues of the day are widely different. But if you vote for the same guys no matter what, then yeah you are a sucker. It comes down to the same question though IMHO: are we better off as a country with this guy or that guy? What is this person's agenda vs that person's?

For some it's a question of loyalty, but that is dumbshit stupid IMHO. Because then they take you for granted, you get lip service and some crumbs to keep you happy. If they don't have to earn your support then they won't, and it appears too many people don't realize that.
