People 80 plus need to pass a cognitive test to drive or run for politics

.

Lame attempt at concealing yet another "I HATE TRUMP" thread.

Cute post, however.

It's not funny. I was watching the news and heard about this 81 year old that killed a cop. My dad is closing in on 80 and he says he won't drive on the expressway anymore. So he knows his reflexes aren't what they used to be. But he won't turn himself in. The law needs to require cognitive tests.

And I want Nikki, Trump and Biden to all take the test.

Talk to your state legislator. It's an entirely reasonable position to have.

I'm 74 and I have limitations, especially while driving at night.

I'm 83 and have a cataract in my right eye that bothers me if I drive at night, so I limit that driving. I going to have it fixed soon so hopefully I won't be bothered by oncoming headlights. I've had to suspend my deer hunting because of the long drive home after dark.

OTOH, drivers 65 and older are the least likely to be involved in a fatal auto accident.

There comes a time when you realize you're not invincible, that you're not a NASCAR quality driver, and there's no reason to try passing every car that's in front of you just because they're in front of you. That's when you start driving defensively, instead of insanely.
