BY MALIA ZIMMERMAN – Nancy Pelosi’s final days as Speaker of the House were spent at the exotic Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Ka’upulehu in Kona on the island of Hawaii.

Escorted throughout her trip by a mini security motorcade that included Secret Service and Hawaii County Police officers, Pelosi was seen at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona, where she received Communion. Parishioners greeted her warmly, Hawaii Reporter was told. Two police SUVs were on guard outside the hotel during her week long stay.

Pelosi, who traveled to Hawaii by private plane, spent the holidays in Kona last year at the same hotel in an elaborate suite that reportedly rents for $10,000 a night.

The article does not mention who paid for her hotel. I suspect that Pelosi paid it. The cost to the taxpayers, and to Hawaiian taxpayers who will be picking up the tab for policing her holiday, is - I suspect - the issue. And, while members of congress are entitled to holidays, of course - I have to wonder whether it is appropriate to be spending considerable sums of taxpayers money during a recession. And.... I would be saying the same thing if it were a Republican.

This is probably the worst aspect of Pelosi's long & miserable reign. She really did abuse her power as House Speaker. To me,these kind of 'Fuck You's' to the Taxpayers were her worst offenses. Her excessive use of our Military Planes was another awful abuse. She should definitely reimburse the American Taxpayers for those excesses. Her husband is worth $Billions so i'm pretty sure she can afford to. She really should consider giving the money back. Her reign is now over but i guess she just couldn't resist getting one last 'Fuck You' in for the Taxpayers. Good riddance.
