Pelosi has said many incredibly stupid things. She should be in a padded cell, not congress.
The government is spending more resources right now going after a rancher for letting his cattle graze than they are on drug cartels at the border.
Anyone, and I mean anyone, can walk through the border. Drug and human smuggling have increased the last few years and that is unacceptable. We cannot ignore the criminals taking advantage of the open borders. And we cannot ignore the identity theft by illegals who come here to take advantage of us by making money here so they can retire early at home. Anyone who thinks all of them long to be citizens are ignorant. They want as much money as they can get and they know this is the place to find it one way or the other.
People who want to become citizens do their best to assimilate, but we're not seeing that with too many. What we are seeing are people who are doing anything they can to make money and then sending most of it back to Mexico. They are building their nest eggs and helping Mexico's economy.
Instead of just becoming a doormat, why don't we put pressure on the Mexican government to do more for the people there? Of course, the government is corrupt and helping the drug cartels, so our government just looks the other way and allows them to send us their poor, so they can work and send money back. Nice deal for them, but not so much for us. We need to break the cycle.
The left apparently sees no difference between legal and illegal immigration so they don't want to discuss it. Expecting reasonable laws to be followed is not racist. It's common sense and the laws exist for the best interests of America.
