Paul Ryan: "We Look Like Fools"

Cult 45 is here

Well, they know that their leader will say absolutely anything in any given moment, then turn around and stab you in the back the next.

Evidently they consider that to be a good quality in a person.

:dunno:

Paul Ryan and his ilk did such a good job impressing voters that his Party was taken over by an outsider and their most entrenched people, Liz Cheney,.Romney etc have either lost elections or walked away. For every action is an equal and opposite reaction. Does he think Jeb Bush would have beaten Clinton?

Since Trump turned out to be a profligate big spender who's policies exploded the deficit I'm not sure Paul was happy so many people were duped in to voting for a charlatan.

He got what he wanted (tax cuts) and then had no interest in dealing with the crazies that have become the GOP
If the House Speaker considered strong borders, parental rights, low energy costs and a strong America to be crazy he might as well become the spokesman for democrat propaganda.

Paul Ryan convinced Trump to turn down the full $5B offer from Schumer to build the wall because a) he didnt want Trump to get a win (and a win for America) and b) he likes Open Borders. Tell him to put on his boots and help the border guards out they have a thankless job.

We watched as the Madison chalk-talk campaign intensified, appearing at first like it was the usual xian campaign, when in fact it was a Trumpan campaign.

Ryan Peaks at Madison, Wisconsin
Paul Ryan? Haven't thought about him in a while. How's he liking the Never Trump Republican Retirement Community? Getting pretty crowded I guess.

A Worsening Trump Increases The Risk Of Political Violence

In the same way that the United States is not immune from the ravages of political violence, it has no special ability to put the toothpaste of political violence back in the tube once it’s unleashed.

Make no mistake: It has been unleashed.

“Trump’s real, enduring legacy is his successful introduction of violence, the threat of violence, and targeted harassment into the dynamics of our political system, as if they were all just a natural extension of democratic disagreement,” Juliette Kayyem rightly observed in The Atlantic this summer.

The past few days have reinforced how unhinged Trump has continued to become and how political violence is the core of his message and for many his central appeal. Since Friday, Trump has:

  • Suggested the country’s top general should be executed for treason;
  • Threatened retaliation against one of the country’s largest media companies for “Country Threatening Treason“;
  • Urged Republicans in Congress to shut down the government, as “the last chance to defund these political prosecutions against me and other Patriots,” and later ominously said: “It’s time Republicans learned how to fight!” against “the Radical Left Marxists, Fascists and Thugs – THE DEMOCRATS.”

If you don't recognize the danger Trump presents to democracy nothing I can say will convince you.

The Tea Party movement that sprang up during Obama's presidency was just as disgusted with Paul Ryan as they were with the Democrats. Ryan tried to form the movement into something manageable but they saw right through him.

What was really irritating was that Ryan announced that he was a lame duck and was leaving at the end of his term and not immediately stepping aside as Speaker when he did.

Let someone else do it, if he didn't want to work with the Trumpster. Rep. Gohmert or someone else would have been glad to take the gavel.
