Ryan is a phony, hypocritical politician; not the anti-stimulus deficit-hawk hero he claims to be.

Speaking of Ryan, where has he been lately other than doing fundraisers involving Dick Cheney in safe red states?

Paul Ryan Staff Emails Show Sensitivity To Stimulus Hypocrisy

In late September 2011...

Wendy Riemann, Walker's director of federal relations, sent an email to Ryan's communications director, Kevin Seifert, asking for a quote from the congressman.

"Not sure if you're doing your own release, etc.," Riemann emailed on Sept. 26. "Let me know -- we'll wait to hear from you either way before putting it out."

Seifert replied with a simple message: Stop the presses. He had one concern. Could the grant be tied to federal stimulus funds?

"Not to create more work for you all but -- do you have any idea where the money for this grant came from? Was it from the stimulus/the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act?" Seifert wrote. "Our concern is that if it's stimulus funds, we won't want to highlight (and would think you guys wouldn't either)."

Seifert did not want Ryan appearing to support President Barack Obama. "The Administration is encouraging lots of agencies to spend un-spent stimulus funds and we generally won't do press on things we actively oppose," the congressman's communications director concluded.

The email exchange underscored a routine problem facing Republicans in the House of Representatives at the time. Having opposed the president's stimulus bill publicly, many (including some of the foremost conservatives) privately concluded that the legislation did some good in their districts.

Seifert's worry in September 2011 was prescient.

During the recent vice presidential debate, Vice President Joe Biden chided Ryan for asking for stimulus funds. Ryan had sought stimulus funds for four projects, including two involving Environmental Protection Agency funds.

The next day, after researching the veteran's home grant, Riemann, in Walker's office, emailed Seifert, Ryan's communications director, with what she discovered. The grant came from federal funds from an annual appropriation -- not the stimulus bill. But there was one potential caveat. "My Google shows there was an audit for this work with recovery funds ... but it also looks like this grant program has been around for awhile," she wrote.

Too risky, Seifert suggested. "Feel free to proceed without us on this one," he said. "Thanks for checking."

Well, this blockbuster news certainly changes my vote from Romney/Ryan to Obama/Biden.

If the Huffington Post says it's true, it HAS to be so.

So now that I've "seen the light", when do I get that Chris Matthews "tingle up my leg" thing?

Right. HuffPost just fabricated the quotes. Go ahead and put your fingers in your ears and live in denial. Ryan spent stimulus funds that he publicly spoke out against. He's a hypocrite and a sham, and you're just the type of sheep he hopes will look the other way.

Ryan was simply doing his job.

This is classic Saul Alinsky. If Ryan really was against the stimulus, he would have stood on his principles and not asked for any of the funds. In which case he would not be doing the job for which he was elected. Therefore he would be fired by the voters for his dereliction of duty.

Exactly. Ryan was doing his job. So why then was he ashamed of doing his job? He publicly blasted the stimulus as wasteful spending. Are you suggesting that Ryan can't stand on his principles?

Please describe in detail how Saul Alinsky directly influences any decisions regarding stimulus, voting against it, or begging for the money you didn't want in the first place.

He wasn't ashamed of doing the job for which he was elected. He's pointing out that putting people in this position is wrong and there is a better way.

In what position? Having to decide between your political ideals and serving your constituents? So, a better way for Ryan would be a situation in which there would be no assistance programs for the poor or gov't assistance for a struggling economy so that he wouldn't have to look like an ass for trashing such programs while simultaneously requesting funds from them?

Poor poor Paul Ryan. Why did the Obama administration put him in the difficult position of having to decide between party politics and serving his constituents?

If I was a conservative, I wouldn't claim you and your dopey statements. Thats how zany you are sugartits.

Paul Ryan's staff doesn't like having to explain his hypocrisy. They should have thought of thta before working with one of the biggest hypocrites in DC.

Better Wisconsin than Solyndra.

I am certain Wisconsin tax payers appreciate some return back into their communities under circumstances of poor leadership.

And thanks to Obama's stimulus, they got that return back into their communities. I am certain Wisconsin taxpayers are aware of who helped them and who didn't.

So how do we feel about the use and expansion of the drone strikes under President Obama? That was something Democrats were not to fond of during the Bush year's no trial or due process just find them and kill them. You don't hear much if any outrage over that now is that because they realize it's a necessary part of fighting terrorism or is it the hypocrisy of only being outraged when the President doing it is a Republican?

No I'm pointing out that hypocrisy in politics is not a new or unique thing it happens all the time by both parties it can be over stimulus money or drone strikes or thousand other things.
