Paul Ryan requested stimulus funds FOUR times

Hypocrisy and inconsistency is the foundation of the republican party now. Why else would they have nominated two men who have run a campaign that is literally built on the ability to say anything to anyone at anytime even if it contradicts what they said just yesterday.

Only Democrats could envision a State Senator who ran under a Socialist Party in Chicago (btw way it was called "The New Party") being elevated to a Senator (oh and btw notice the similarity:D) who by the age of less than 50 wrote 2 count them 2 autobiographies?

And the loser who could never live up to his brothers and always lived in their shadows gave us Barack.

Amazes me that the best retort that a rethug can give, after their heros are criticzed, are that, well, look at what the Dems did. They did almost the same thing or worse.

In other words, we rethugs are not offering any better candidate than Dems did, it is just that they are our (rethugs) candidates and that makes any stupid shit they have done ok.

Not that they are going to be better at the job. They won't be. It's just that they won't be Dems doing stupid shit.

That makes me feel a lot better.

And makes your defence of your candidate sound like a 10 year old going; mommy he did it to. Don't yell at me cause he did it to.

WASHINGTON -- During Thursday night's vice presidential debate, Vice President Joe Biden attacked Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) for criticizing the president's stimulus act despite having sent two separate requests for stimulus funds for his district.

Biden was wrong. Ryan sent at least four requests.

Oh...haven't you heard? There's nothing that gives a Republican a hard on more than free money, or as they refer to it...money from the 47%

Yeah...especially if they're talking to a crowd of million dollar donors and don't have a clue about being held accountable.......a mere slip of the tongue.

More importantly,

in 2009, Paul Ryan supported the Republican counter-proposal to Obama's 787 billion dollar stimulus package;

the GOP proposal was a 700 billion dollar stimulus package that was, just as was the Democrats',

a mixture of tax cuts and SPENDING, the only difference being a marginal one in terms of the cuts-to-spending ratio.

Decker, you sound reasonable. Let me ask you this.

If 47% of the population are not paying Federal Income taxes and Mittens wants to cut taxes across the board by 20%, how will that fix the problem of the 47% not paying any Fed Income tax?

Why would rethugs complain about all those not paying yet want them to pay even less?

Is it just so they can give big cuts to the ultra rich and then have even more to complain about?

Wouldn't it make more sense for the rethugs to talk about elimination of the EIC and forcing poorer people to have some "skin in the game" as so many rethugs like to claim?

And if collecting all the wealth from the ultra rich will only fund the guvmint for 48 days or something like that, how is reducing their write offs gonna pay for this big tax cut that MIttens likes so much?
Are they really writing off more than their income? I doubt it.

Just have some inconsistancies I can't unnerstan. Thought I would ask you.

Lakhota and the Shaman are really busy tonight.

The idea that Paul Ryan is some sort of remarkable fiscal conservative is more legend than fact. The story belongs alongside another Wisconsin story,

that of Paul Bunyan.

You're absolutely right. The Republicans want more tax cuts for the Rich. Politically, though, it's impossible to give tax cuts JUST to the Rich,

so they always give tax cuts to pretty much everyone. Problem is, since low income Americans started from a lower tax basis,

over time, their taxes starting hitting zero as the GOP kept cutting their taxes in order to get what they really wanted,

the tax cuts for the Rich.

Now they want a 20% cut across the board, which is huge for the Rich and doesn't amount to much for those not paying any tax now,

but it will push MORE into the no-tax group that they complain about. If you're only paying a few hundred in federal income tax now, you're not in the 47%,

but a 20% reduction in your rate could easily put you there.

That and the talk about eliminatimg "deductions". Like poorer people are itemizing deductions.

It's just bull shit so that the ultra rich can give themselves ANOTHER big tax break. And the rethugs can bitch and moan about the 52% (or whatever the number becomes) that are not paying Federal income taxes because the rethugs lowered taxes again.

well thanks for nice comments although i am not expect. i think you make some very very good points. if he talking about cutting the rich taxes and yet it would not slove promblem of those who don,t pay tax at all.

i agree it hard to see how you can pay for big tax cut for the rich without having money to cover for it. if you reduce rich taxes then you lose money and then you got to cut somewhere else to pay for that.

that what worries me about romney. is he just going to cut for sake sake without thinking of need for growth in either public or private sectiro.

It’s the continued appeasement of the radical right and TPM.

Paul Ryan voted for Nancy Pelosi's 2008 stimulus, 80 billion I think was the amount,

that GW Bush ultimately signed.

Shortly thereafter Ryan felt the political winds shift to the hard right and he started flowing in that direction.

Spot on and worth repeating. Good luck getting any of the idiots on this site to respond with anything meaningful, if at all.

Steff, you sound like a 10 year old.

However. Obama was correct in what he said. And so was Mittens correct in what he said.

So you condem Obama for what he said and we will condem Obama. You condem Rommney and we will condem Romney. They both put foot in mouth, regardless of what they believe.

But quit with the mommy he did it to whine.

And steff, you know how Mittens wants a 20% tax cut across the board. How will that make people that are not paying federal income tax now pay federal income tax?
How's that work in Rommney land?
