Palin on the radio today said she resigned because...

I agree. Resigning served all Alaskan to their best interest. The man down in the capitol building's boiler room who thinks cartoons are real characters could do a better job than her.

Mr. Starkey, your line of BS here can only serve to gain you one thing, a piece of ass from Pelosi.

This must be liberal foreplay!

Mike

On the radio today Sarah Palin said she resigned because it was in the best interests of the people of Alaska, whom she loves. This was in reply to a question by the radio scumbag host who had asked what 'we' supporters of Palin should say in reply to opponents of her.

Does this woman ever think before she speaks?

i don't think she gets IT.

I don't think she gets SHIT.

Well she was correct that her resigning was in the best interest of the people of Alaska, having a publicity addicted buffoon as a governor is not good for a state.

I wish the governor of my state was as efficient as she was.:eusa_angel:

It might do you good to read a little history before you ignorantly post about something you know nothing about.:cuckoo:

This is a good e-mail that she printed in her book on pages 405-408 from and Alaskan constituent. Keep in mind that the Associated Press sent out 11 journalists to fact check her book. They sent none out to fact check Obama's two books.

A few of her accomplishments as Governor.

A View From Alaska: By Dewey Whetsell

" The last forty-five of my sixty-six years I've spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska. I understand Alaska politics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here's the breaking point: Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it. It's not about persona, style, rhetoric, it's about doing things. Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I'm about to mention here."

1. Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the governor's office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republicans' Corrupt Bastards Club. (CBC) and sent it packing. Many of it's members are now residing in state housing and wearing orange jumpsuits. The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti, and singing " La la la la" ( well, you know how they are). Name another governor in this country who has ever done anything similar. But while you're thinking, I'll continue."

2. Now, with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaska politicians to protect the giant oil companies here. So Palin constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called "ACES." ExxonMobil ( the biggest corporation in the world) protested, and Sarah told it, " Don't let the door hit you in the stern on your way out." It stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course, the other huge international oil companies fell meekly into line. Again, give the name of any other governor in the country who has done anything similar.

3. The other thing she did when she walked into the governor's office is that she got the list of state requests for federal funding for projects known as "pork." She went through the list, took 85 percent of them out, and placed them in the " when-hell-freezes-over" stack. She let locals know that if we need something built, we'll pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor's jet because it was extravagant. Maybe she could use the money she saved by dismissing the governor's cook ( remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the state vehicle issued to her ( maintaining that she already had a car) and dismissing her state-provided security force ( never mentioning--I imagine--that she was packing heat herself.) I'm still waiting to hear the names of those other governors.

4. Even with her much-ridiculed " gosh and golly" manerisms, she managed to put together a totally new approach to getting a natural gas pipeline built that will be the biggest private construction project in the history of North America. No one else could do it even if they tried. If that doesn't impress you, you're trying too hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a batch of brownies with her other hand.

5. For thirty years, Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling at a place called Point Thomson. It made excuses the entire time for why it couldn't start drilling. In truth it was holding it as an investment. No governor for thirty years could make it get started. This summer, she told Exxon she was revoking it's lease and kicking it out. It protested and threatened court action. She shrugged and reminded them that she knew the way to the courthouse. Alaska won again.

6. President Obama wants the nation to be on 25 percent renewable resources for electricity by 2025. Sarah went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50 percent renewable by 2025. We are already at 25 percent. I can give you more specifics about things done, as opposed to style and persona. Everbody wants to be cool, sound cool, look cool. But that's just a cover-up.

I am still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has done in two and a half years. I won't be holding my breath."

Domestically Obama is failing. Why? Because most American's disagree with his proposed programs and plans of action. This is fact.

Obama might be able to pull a feather out of his cap with Afghanistan, but, he is going to have to first be ready to make some very unconventional decisions for a liberal and second, he is going to have to be honestly passionate about those who serve at his pleasure and about reaching solid and well defined goals. Thus far he is not measuring up.

Obama faces the his largest challenge with Iran. It's wonderful that the world loves Obama, but hey, they always love liberals! The problem is that Russia, China, Iran and Israel, do not respect his resolve to take and follow through with the tough decisions. How do I know? Simple, he keeps globe trotting and he keeps coming home empty! Iran keeps shoving it up his ass and Israel, well Israel sees him as a sell out.

So even if he gains some ground with the Afghanistan issue and a little bit domestically, the Iran situation alone can derail his entire term, if he is not willing to get his hands dirty!

Yet he has those like Mr. Starkey here who is worried about a woman from Alaska!

This should strike me as odd, but, when I see the this white house give more attention to talk show hosts and news networks than the troops in harms way, well it makes Mr. Starkey and those liberals like him perfectly understandable.

Mike

She still can't articulate why she quit, because it makes no sense.

I suspect if she were ever completely truthful about her motives, her supporters will be completely let down.

Really? WHat is your take on why she quit?

It's in her book, she has stated the reasons why on three different televised interviews with O'Reilly, Hannity, Greta, she has also stated those reasons on Rush and Hannitys' radio show over and over and over and over again. Do you libs have a hearing problem? Give it up and get a life.

Let me outline it again for you that have difficulty with the written, visual and the spoken word.

1. Several frivolous ethics charges that cost her family personally $500,000 to defend.
2. Her own staff was being taken to court on frivoulus ethics charges and they were having to pay their own attorney's fees.
4. The business of Alaska had come to a stand still as her staff and herself were busy defending agianst these frivolous charges.
5. Her children and family were being attacked viciously in a unprecedented, diabolical manner including national television.
6. All in all she had over 25 frivolous charges brought against her administration, one of them for wearing a jacket with a logo on it while she was at a race, dismissed.
7. Her family, her physician, her neighbors, anyone who knew her were being constantly harrassed by the media and left wing lunatics.

She did the right and honorable thing and stepped down allowing the business of her state to proceed. She rocks and she just hit the million sold list. She is laughing all the way to the bank and you libs have been a great sales marketing team because it's you that promote her book.

Did you happen to see that Iranian students are chanting death to the dictator during a protest today in Iran? It was on Greta tonight.

Palin explained her reasons well in Alaska when she announced that she was stepping down. further, her reasons were reasonable and made sense.

If I were a Alaskan I would respect her for it and be thankful that her personal political career did not blind her ability to do what was correct for the state.

Palin could have stayed as a sitting governor and still raised a lot of money to fight any personal battles she needed to. So those who claim that she did this for personal income are simply wrong and grasping at straws.

Palin is not ready yet for a high national political seat, but, if you look at her past openly and honestly, she is capable of reaching that point and it won't take her years and years to do it.

Yes and as I said, is Obama capable of getting his hands dirty and deal with Iran on multiple levels and bring them under wraps?

My bet is no, he isn't!

The door has been open since he took office and he has yet to walk through it. I don't think he has the guts.

Mike where I disagree with you is that she accomplished a whole lot more than any of the governors of my state and she did it in 2 1/2 years. Hell, I have had governors that were here for 8 years and they accomplished absolutely nothing for their constituents. Somehow they got re-elected.

" If you want something said, ask a man. If you want something done, ask a woman. " Margaret Thatcher. I might mention that all of the governors of my state have been men.

I like men, but think that sometimes you men overlook the intelligence and leadership a woman can provide. Palin is an example of good leadership.

There is going to be one telling tale about Palin right now and to find it I would look at either who is traveling with her or who is meeting her periodically through this book tour!

My guess is she is doing more right now than simply making stops to sign books. I am not referring to laying the groundwork for a political run, I mean personally! And you can bet this information is being kept tightly under wraps with only those she can truly trust.

Maple, actually we do not disagree. I feel that her record is solid and that the facts support that opinion. Further, I have a great admiration for ole Maggie!

Look, Palin needs to round herself out. that is where she lacks. She has the tools, she has the ability. But she is not yet rounded enough yet for national politics and I think that process is taking place now!

This nation is long over due for a woman in the White House, I have had that opinion for many years now.

What I find upsetting is that we have elected a President who was a former community organizor, spent some time as a legislator in the state house and spent all of 150 days in the U.S senate. He has no accomplishments. No one questioned his qualifications for Presidency.

Palin who has accomplished a great deal not only as governor but as mayor of Washilla is continually denigrated, demeaned and mischaracterized by the left and even by some of the stuff shirts, country club, good ole boy network of the Republican party as being not fit for higher office and yet she has an admirable record of accomplishments and experience.
Much, much more than the President that we have in the White House now.

I am beginning to think that this is a sexist thing going on with men and some women to where that old double standard sets in and women are required to exceed far and beyond the standard that men do in order to be elected to a higher office.

I think it's time that men and women take their blinders off, I truly believe that Hillary would have made a much better, stronger leader than Barrach Obama ever could. I beleive the same of Palin. The Iron lady ( Margaret Thatcher)was no exception either.

" The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money." Margaret Thatcher

Well not really sexist. She's an antiabortion female which according to the American left means she has to be daft.

And she isn't a big government Republican which means the country club set won't like her either. And neither of them is in particular composed of people who won't play dirty to get their way.

She is pro-life but has a sister who is pro-choice, she is a fiscal conservative, cleaned up corruption in her own party in her own state, some are still in jail, she cut the pork out of the budget of Alaska, took on big oil and won, is at 25% renewable energy and growing, and started the largest natural gas line in North America. All in 2 1/2 years.

Here's a question I would like an answer to. What have your governors ACCOMPLISHED??

You guys quit picking on Sarah. I think she's hot and she's my secret sweetie! Besides, she knows how to field dress a moose. Bet nobody else in the political world can say that. Despite all the flap about Sarah, she still remains in the public minds and is growing in popularity. Obama and crew's popularity is dropping as quickly as hers is rising. If she's such a dummy, why is this happening? While she may not be the most political savy person in town, she's a fresh face, not a Washington insider, and I believe more honest than anybody else in the arena today. Get used to seeing and hearing more from her. She's a force to be dealt with.

She's a Maverick! You betcha!

No.....maverick was when she was in politics. Now? She's just a failure telling everyone they still have to address her as "governor". What a fucking mook.

By the way BBD, did you ever stop to consider that there is someone in Congress who has a much better skill than field dressing a moose, and it's also a whole lot more useful for a Congress critter?

The Congress person's name is Al Franken. What his specialty is, is that he can draw an entire map of the United States, to proper scale, and label all the states, as well as the capitols and their location in the state.

Much more valuable than being able to dress a moose.

So it is a good thing when politicians resign because they cannot stand the heat they've themselves have generated by choices of their own making?

really...and still do the job she was e-l-e-c-t-e-d to do...the job she alread raised money in order to aquire?

she ran out on voters and contributors.

I may agree a bit here, but the elephant in the room is her behavior. If she is not ready yet... WTF was she doing accepting the VP nomination? :cuckoo:
