'Full Self-Driving' Tesla Tries to Run a Red Light as Elon Musk Streams Test Drive

In a recent livestream, Elon Musk showcased Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) v12 beta software, but the event was marred by a near-miss at a red light. When the Tesla attempted to run a red signal, Musk grabbed the wheel, quipping: "That’s why we’ve not released this to the public yet."

Thats a problem. Those signal lights have built in transponders and thats probably how the Tesla picks up wether the light is green and red.
I sat on a jury once where there was a traffic accident between a Fire truck and a passenger vehicle, apparently one of the claims was that the transponder had malfunctioned which would have allowed the fire truck to turn the light from green to red for the opposing traffic.
But anyways... unless the automated cars can visually see the red or green light... this is always going to be a potential life threatening accident.
