The global warming issue continues to fall off the doom n gloom radar.

Watch for $millions to be spent in advertising by the Green Machine to try and offset this continued downtrend...

It's funny though that the lib media makes it out to be a universal truth, however.

Why do some find it necessary to argue the causes of global warming?

What is in it for their children if they are wrong?

How do they account for the changes in weather and the melting glaciers?

If the majority of scientists agree global warming is real, why ask the average citizen? Do you use them for medical advice as well?

Even if global arming is natural why not keep the planet clean? Those of us old enough remember the pollution of rivers and lakes.

And safe and renewal energy should be a concern of all people.

Ah, now we see the cries of distress over the fact that global warming continues to be of little concern to Americans...

No one is FOR polution except you of course..a little odd?

Repeat the lie enough times it will become the truth...

The introduction of CO2 into the atmosphere is most facinating. This carbon that became dormant in the past is now participating in the biosphere.

Man made disasters are not new. The dustbowl conditions of the thrities are evidence of that. Conservation of energy was never a big thing in the US untill the Arabs got pissed off at us back in 73.

Oddly it made some kind of sense to me ... in spite of the slightly racial slant they used.

The energy conservation movement did not flair up until after the oil wars started, perhaps there is more that needs to be looked at on this sometime. The carbon thing, not sure what that part meant, but meh.

How do they account for the changes in weather and the melting glaciers?

1. Natural cycle. In some parts of the world its even colder, and in other parts of the world its hotter

2. Did you not hear that the Antartic ice increased by 34%?

No, the Anarctic ice did not increase by 34%. In fact, the Anarctic is losing ice by the megaton every year. The sea ice covered a bigger area, however, it melts off every summer, so there is no net gain.

Is Antarctica losing or gaining ice?
The skeptic argument...The amount of ice surrounding Antarctica is now at the highest level ever measured for this time of the year, since satellites first began to monitor it almost 30 years ago. All of the IPCC’s models of Antarctica in the twenty-first century forecast a gain in ice, as a warmer surrounding ocean evaporates more water, which subsequently falls in the form of snow when it hits the continent. Other studies, such as Peter Doran’s in Nature in 2003, show actual cooling in recent decades. It’s simply too cold for rain in Antarctica, and it’ll stay that way for a very long time. The bottom line is that there is more ice than ever surrounding Antarctica (source: Patrick Michaels).

What the science says...
Overall, Antarctic land ice is falling. Antarctic sea ice is growing despite a warming Southern Ocean.

It's important to distinguish between Antarctic land ice and sea ice which are two separate phenomenon.

Antarctic Land Ice
Measuring changes in Antarctic land ice mass has been a difficult process due to the ice sheet's size and complexity. However, over the last few years, the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellites have been able to comprehensively survey the entire ice sheet. Using measurements of time-variable gravity, Velicogna 2007 determined mass variations of the entire Antarctic ice sheet from 2002 to 2005. They found the overall mass of the ice sheet decreased significantly, at a rate of 152 ± 80 cubic kilometers of ice per year (equivalent to 0.4 ± 0.2 millimeters of global sea-level rise per year). Most of this mass loss came from the West Antarctic Ice Sheet. Figure 1 displays Antarctica's ice mass from 2002 to 2005 - the red crosses is their best estimate with the dotted linehttp://www.skepticalscience.com/antarctica-gaining-ice.htm the linear tre

The following National scientific organizations have agreed that global warming is real and human activities are a contributing cause:
Australian Academy of Sciences
Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Sciences and the Arts
Brazilian Academy of Sciences
Royal Society of Canada
Caribbean Academy of Sciences
Chinese Academy of Sciences
French Academy of Sciences
German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina
Indian National Science Academy
Indonesian Academy of Sciences
Royal Irish Academy
Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei (Italy)
Academy of Sciences Malaysia
Academy Council of the Royal Society of New Zealand
Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences
Royal Society (UK)

In addition, a paper published in the premier scientific journal Science describes a survey of peer review journals from 1993-2003 containing the words “global climate change”. Of the 928 papers surveyed not a single paper disagreed with the scientific consensus. Naomi Oreskes describes her paper via an op-ed in the Washington Post.
We read 928 abstracts published in scientific journals between 1993 and 2003 and listed in the database with the keywords "global climate change." Seventy-five percent of the papers either explicitly or implicitly accepted the consensus view. The remaining 25 percent dealt with other facets of the subject, taking no position on whether current climate change is caused by human activity. None of the papers disagreed with the consensus position.”

The Petition - 11,885+ individual scientists listed by name
A petition signed by 52 Nobel Laureates, 63 National Medal of Science recipients, 195 members of the National Academies, and over 11,885+ other scientists criticizing the misuse and politicization of science in Washington. The list is continually growing so these are minimum numbers. Here is an excerpt from that petition:
“For example, in support of the president’s decision to avoid regulating emissions that cause climate change, the administration has consistently misrepresented the findings of the National Academy of Sciences, government scientists, and the expert community at large. Thus in June 2003, the White House demanded extensive changes in the treatment of climate change in a major report by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). To avoid issuing a scientifically indefensible report, EPA officials eviscerated the discussion of climate change and its consequences.”

I guess you can believe the people who make big bucks polluting the Earth or you can believe the scientists...

Wasteful spending --> Global warming.

If you disagree with global warming, expect funding to be cut. What happens when your boss tells you: "You better believe in the boogieman because he is out to get you...or else you are out of a job. So you want your job, better believe of the boogieman. If you don't, here's your pink slip."

I know Kitten is going to carp but that claim demands a chart of the hot and cold areas of the globe for perspective. So since he didn't provide it, as a public service I will. If you want to avoid me posting such charts, then please provide them when the claims are made.

There are a lot of peer pressured academies across the globe ... well, not as many as those who aren't, but one per major world power. Look at where and why they get funding, people clearly don't like seeing the whole picture.

The funny thing is that under Bush the exact opposite happened, those that agreed that global warming is real and at least in part caused by human activity were ignored, over turned, or even fired.

Repubs always accusing everyone of what they know they would be doing if they were in power.
