OMG Trumps gonna start WW3

Then why do Conservatives support him?

LOL

Maybe US should do it first?

And tell me, in exactly when of those cases did the US annex any territory?

And it was never the US alone, it was always an international coalition and with the full support of the UN. In fact, Russia voted in favor of all of those resolutions, in case you are not aware of it. The invasion of Iraq was in compliance with UNSCR 1441, which was passed unanimously by the UN Security Council. Including Russia.

Tell me, when exactly did Russia put forward to the UN that intervention needed to be done here? Where is the UN Resolution condemning Ukraine, and where is the UNSCR authorization for the use of force?

Funny, once again you make a claim only to have your own argument so easily blasted. The US in those cases you are trying to claim never acted on its own, but went through the UN. It also never annexed territory. All Russia has done is unauthorized and unsanctioned lab grabs to expand their own borders and power.

So once again, maybe Russia should stop behaving like that. And it's amazing, they are acting just like Germany did at the end of the 1930s.

And tell me, in exactly when of those cases did the US annex any territory?
Almost 1000 military bases around the world + illegal presence in some territories (Syria).
The dollar as an international means of payment.
And why occupy territories, it is cheaper to buy political puppets for papers with dead presidents on them and they will bring the money and the wealth of their countries themselves.

Yet Russia didn't make a move on Ukraine until Biden was installed. Why? If Trump wouldn't have put up a fight, why wait until Joe the lion was in charge?

LOL
Russia trusted what Trump was saying about Biden and NATO

Boy was he wrong

Almost 1000 military bases around the world + illegal presence in some territories (Syria).

The vast majority of those "bases" are simply a small liaison with a dozen people or less on the base of a partner nation. And guess what, they have the same thing set up in our country. By your definition there, there are hundreds of foreign military bases in the US.

And Syria. So are you now claiming that the United Nations Supervision Mission in Syria is illegal? It was agreed to as part of UNSCR 2059 in 2012, and Russia agreed with the creation of that also.

So kindly explain to us how the UN mission to protect refugees and try to stop the fighting is illegal?

The dollar as an international means of payment.

Oh good grief, you are aware that that was done by the other nations to standardize currency exchange, right? The money is never actually translated into dollars. It is a "peg currency", a stable middle currency that is used to standardize transactions. The money is never actually converted into dollars, and the transaction is not conducted in dollars. You must be completely ignorant if you are not aware of that simple fact.

And hell, OPEC was the first major cartel to make that change, even though the relations with the entire cartel was on shaky grounds because of the 973 oil embargo, and there would be yet another one a few years later. The dollar was picked simply because it is the most stable currency on the planet and for no other reason. The same reason that many nations peg their currency to that of the US (mostly at a 1 to 1 or 2 to 1 rate). Panamanian Balboas are pegged 1 to 1 to the Dollar, Belize Dollars are pegged at 2 to 1, so US$1 will get you B$2. That is entirely their decision, it has absolutely nothing to do with the US at all. However, Panama and Belize also have what are considered the most stable currencies in Central and South America because of that.

Unlike say the currency of Venezuela, which is actually worth less than the fictional game currencies of most online games.

And that is why you have companies like Forex, which is actually a Swedish company and handles a huge percentage of international monetary transactions. And it can be either direct currency to currency (like Japanese Yen to Mexican Peso), or it can work through an intermediate peg currency, like the Dollar or Euro. But in those transactions, no money is actually transferred into either Dollar or Euro. It is simply an intermediate currency to help level out any fluctuations between one currency and the other.

More or less the place gold used to have, before the value of that started to wildly fluctuate and it was no longer a good choice for such transactions. But it could be the dollar, or yen, or bricks of wood or wheels of Swiss Cheese, it really does not matter. You are really showing your ignorance of how this all works, and I know this is not the first time you have made that charge and I tried to educate you on how it actually works.

To assume Russia is allowed to invade and bomb Ukraine targets without any retaliation is a nonstarter

Show us a peaceful way for Russia to stop the unprovoked, absurd military encirclement of the country's western borders and we'll stop "assuming" that.

But if you can't come up with any peaceful solution just shut up and let the russian bombs accomplish what 30 years of diplomatic efforts clearly failed to achieve.

Russia is in a no win situation

Its poorly considered and poorly executed invasion has left them no way out. They can’t conquer Ukraine, they cannot maintain a failed invasion, withdrawal will be political suicide back home.

OK... you're arguing that brute force was a miserable failure in preventing the military encirclement of Russia's borders.

But what about the peaceful way to prevent the encirclement?

More blundering by Putin
In trying to “protect his borders” he has allowed NATO to expand its border and the eventual admittance of Ukraine

"Encirclement of Russia's borders"?

What, are countries for some reason taking over other countries near the borders of Russia?

The most ironic part about that is that this invasion actually caused a nation that has maintained over 7 decades of neutrality between Russia and NATO to jump firmly onto the side of NATO. And when this is all said and done Ukraine is likely to do the same thing. All this invasion has done is expand the power of NATO as Russia has simply proven that they can not be trusted.

It has not "allowed", it practically forced other nations to join NATO.

Ukraine and Finland were perfectly happy being neutral, and siding with neither side. One has been in that position since the end of WWII, the other since the Soviet Union imploded in 1991. And this unprovoked attack and annexation after several other unprovoked attacks and annexations have shown some of their neighbors that Russia is not to be trusted, and will continue to act as such so long as the other neighboring nations do not either do exactly as they order, or have strong allies that will protect them.

If you look at the history of Russia, starting wars that their economy couldn’t support has led to revolution and regime change.

WWI caused the economy to collapse and the Russian Revolution
The war in Afghanistan collapsed the USSR

Putin cannot afford a sustained invasion of Ukraine. It will lead to the collapse of his dictatorship
