Managing to ignore logic, education, and experience, Democrats embrace failure and wave it over their head as though some magical frond.

1. Must be the success of government schooling.

a. 'Once again, no big surprise, but those who favor capitalism or socialism are divided in a partisan way as well. Republicans favor capitalism by an 11-1 margin, while democrats are much more divided on the issue; 39% say they favor capitalism while 30% favor socialism.'
Rasmussen Poll Capitalism vs. Socialism 53 Prefer Capitalism Right Pundits

b. The most striking partisan differences come in reactions to the word "socialism." Just 15% of Republicans react positively to "socialism" while 77% react negatively. By more than two-to-one (64% to 26%), independents also have a negative impression of "socialism."

However, Democrats are evenly divided -- 44% have a positive reaction to "socialism" while 43% react negatively

5. Meanwhile, in Venezuela......
"In Venezuela, five years of severance pay now buys you one cup of coffee
When Yolanda Abreu got her check for severance pay after five years working as a cardiologist, she let out a laugh of sheer disbelief: it was barely enough for a cup of coffee.

Like her, millions of Venezuelans have seen their salaries decimated by rampant hyperinflation that is expected to drive prices up by 13,000 percent this year, IMF figures show.

Her story hit the headlines after she tweeted a photo of the check for 156,584.29 bolivars, which equates to about $0.20 on the black market.

"They called me from Caracas University Hospital to come and collect my check for benefits accrued over five years of service as a Level 2 specialist in cardiology and electrophysiology," she wrote on Twitter.

"What could it buy?" she wondered indignantly. "A coffee?"

What do you consider “socialism”?
The military is socialist. I guess the OP hates the military too.

They won't define it . They just declare everything thy don't like as "socialism"!
Here:
so·cial·ism

    synonyms: leftism, welfarism; More

      synonyms: leftism, welfarism; More
    • (in Marxist theory) a transitional social state between the overthrow of capitalism and the realization of communism.

What do you consider “socialism”?

The reality is that none of these is markedly different: Communism, Socialism, Liberalism, Fascism, Progressivism, Nazism.

a. "In an article on socialism in the Encyclopedia Britannica,
Prof. G. D. H. Cole, a leading theoretician and historian of
the British Labor Party, declares: The distinction between socialism as distinguished by various Labor and Socialist parties of Europe and the New World, and communism, as represented by the Russians and minority parties in other countries is one of tactics-and-strategy rather than one of objective. Communism is indeed only socialism pursued by revolutionary means and making its revolutionary method a canon of faith...."
In The Communist Manifesto, Marx and Engels stated that
communist ends can be attained "only by the forcible overthrow
of all existing social conditions."
Chesley Manly, "The Twenty Year Revolution"

b. " The Communists and their Marxist cousins, the Socialists,
have worked for revolution since the advent of the New Deal
twenty-one years ago by infiltrating government offices, , labor
unions, schools and colleges, churches, radio and television,
the movies, the publishing business. " Ibid.

During Jack Cafferty's time as a co-anchor of CNN's morning program, he reported on March 31, 2004 that "It's a red-letter day here in America. Air America, that communist radio network, starts broadcasting in a little while."

Cafferty was unyielding when CNN colleague Soledad O'Brien responded by saying that the new talk-radio network was not communist but liberal.

He replied: "Well. Aren't they synonymous?"

According to one source these are some of the most socialistic nations in the world today:
  • China
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • Netherlands
  • Canada
  • Sweden
  • Norway
  • Ireland
  • New Zealand
  • Belgium
Despite popular myths, there is very little connection between economic performance and welfare expenditure. Many of the countries on this list are proof of that, such as Denmark and Finland. Even though both countries are more socialistic than America, the workforce remains stronger.

Yes . That’s textbook .

But when righties run around complaining that stuff like Obamacare is “socialism “, that doesn’t really fit the definition.

As an independent (moderate), I love the idea of socialism.

That is to say, I feel that the fact that one has been born entitles one to certain basic needs: housing, food, clothing,. and medical care.

*****

"Socialism" basically means that everyone is a government employee.

So the following people are the beneficiaries of socialism: teachers, police officers, letter carriers, members of the armed forces (including generals), all government clerks -- and (of course) all elected and appointed politicians.

*****

Senator Sanders's idea of giving everyone a job (either in private industry or creating a government job) is great!

Right now, the government helps many people buy food, pay the rent, and care for each new darling little baby that they bring into the world. Why not give them a job instead of a direct handout?

I prefer the opportunity cost of socialism merely learning how to use Capitalism, for all of its capital worth in modern times.
