As for the excuse that it's really the Senate that's blocking arms to the Kurds, that's a bit lame. If Obama really wanted to get arms to the Kurds, he would get arms to them. The Kurds have been the most pro-American bunch in that region, and bore the brunt of Saddam's wrath. They were totally sympathetic and helpful to us. If we had had any decency we would have pushed for a Kurdistan state separate from Iraq. ANd it would have been a bulwark against Islamo-fascism.

If Obama really wanted to get arms to the Kurds, he would get arms to them.

He would be violating U.S. Law and Iraq's sovereignty to do so. The Kurds in Iraq are now defending the territory they want to be within their autonomous zone. Heavily arming the Kurds sounds good on paper but it does not resolve the broader issue required to defeat ISIS. Republicans can't think big picture. They are fixated on one picture - destroying Obama's presidency by whatever means possible and that includes siding with the Saudis who were large part sympathetic to the creation of ISIS . Prince Bandar lost his high position because ISIS went totally berserk about one year ago. You can take the Saudi argument - I agree with Obama's handling of the current crisis. No more Americans die on the ground in combat there and no choosing sides that might split Iraq apart.
