Obama’s Failing Record: The Numbers Do Not Lie

Obama's first year was pretty rough. George W. Bush left him with 2 ( Count em ) full on wars that involved nation building, a brand new department of homeland security, a new medicare entitlement, a collapsing financial sector, a collapsing auto sector and as a provision to pay for all his stuff..he CUT TAXES. ( First time in history, by the way..that this country went to war..and taxes were cut ).

And..Bush LIED about how deep the deficit really was..

Good job boys!

How long will "It's Bush's Fault" be your campaign slogan?

The numbers don't lie. Democrats lie.

And they will keep it up until you believe it.

As long as their Dear Leader keeps saying and using it..

It is really amazing how badly the republicans screwed up the economy but left a legacy of unfunded wars, unfunded programs and a massive tax cut that made it impossible to balance the budget

To top it off, Republicans blocked every measure that attempted to fix the mess they created

When the Democrats took control of Congress, both houses, the unemployment rate was 4.7%. When the Republicans took control of the house, the unemployment rate was 9.0%.

The unemployment rate is now 8.5%.

Tell me again how well the Dems have done.

One thing this country has been taught is that much like the Great Depression, when Republicans fuck things up.....they fuck them up royally

My favorite part is where they giggle and say.....We screwed things up so bad, nobody can fix it

The vision of republicans that you put forth is not in keeping with giggling.

Do you have a favorite video of this you'd like to post?

The people who had to accept severe cutbacks were the GM bondholders that Obama moved his union friends in front of in the que of lienholders. And then people like you wonder why investors are reluctant to sink capital into the US? When you've got a President who thinks the "rule of law" is something that can be tossed out the window whenever it suits his purposes why would anyone want to invest in a business that "he" is going to be able to affect in such a way?

The GM bondholders invested in an industry that had to ask the taxpayer to bail them out. They deserved to lose money. The union employees accepted major cuts in wages and benefits.
Unlike Bush, who just threw money at the auto companies. Obama insisted on a major restructuring and government oversight of how our money was being used. Obamas bailout worked......Bushes left them asking for more money in six months

A major success for the Obama administration

bullshit, Gm could of asked for a bail out till they were blue in the face..that didn't mean the Obama and his comrades in arms HAD to do it...Yet here you lefties cheer this and us taxpayers and the bondholders..... GOT SCREWED.
Or Solyndra, and other failing ventures that the taxpayer is on the hook for.

Obamas first order of business was the economic stimulus followed by bills to save the financial sector and the auto industry. In the face of an eminent economic collapse, he prevented a depression

The super majority lasted only seven months. Republicans have since blocked numerous jobs bills and aid to the unemployed.

In spite of that, over two million jobs have been created

That's a crock, Winger...Obama's first order of business was use his super majorities to go after ObamaCare. He used the so called "stimulus" to reward his union buddies and the people who ponied up cash for him in the green industries, investing our money in turkeys like Solyndra. TARP is what prevented a depression and that wasn't even Obama's program but something he carried over from W. It's three years later and Barry is STILL trying to come up with a jobs plan.

Republicans have been seeking cuts in government spending ever since they took back the House in 2010. It's what the electorate elected them to do but not only won't this Administration make cuts...it can't even submit a freaking budget. Meantime, Harry Reid sits on 30 plus bills that the GOP House has sent to the Senate, not letting any of them come up for votes and Barack Obama hasn't even talked to GOP leaders IN SIX MONTHS!!! Yet you accuse the Republicans of obstruction? That's amusing...

You need to go back and pull out your calendar. Obamacare did not pass until the end of 2009 after the Dems had lost their supermajority

Stimulus and the bailouts were accomplished in the first four months.

The republicans have looked to slash funding to programs on their hate list. They have not wanted to address debt reduction as a whole, returning to previous tax structures or cutting defense. They have steadfastly protected the one percent while allowing the country to court default

The GOP Congress has not passed a single significant piece of legislation because they load each piece of legislation with poison pills such as "repeal Obamacare" "pipeline" and "ban gay marriage"

If they were serious, they would pass bipartisan bills and get the country moving again

Actually ObamaCare passed in March of 2010, Winger so you might want to check YOUR calendar. If you'll recall...the Senate passed it in December 60-39 with all Republicans voting against it as Harry Reid rushed it through. The House approved it 219-212 in March of 2010 with 34 Democrats voting against it and all Republicans voting against it as well. Many of the Democrats were allowed to vote against the bill in the House by Nancy Pelosi because they were up for reelection in the mid-terms and the health care reform bill was such an unpopular piece of legislation. It's a piece of garbage bill because they couldn't send it back to the Senate because the Democrats no longer had a filibuster proof majority so they got stuck with the awful bill that Reid rushed through. The truth is...the American people didn't want ObamaCare but Barry, Harry and Nancy rammed it down our throats anyways.

I'm curious why the pipeline project would be considered a "poison pill"? It's like another pipeline that Obama approved several years earlier the only difference being, Barry's trying to placate the environmental groups so they'll support him in 2012. Oh, and Winger? You don't have to pass the bills as they come from the House...the Senate can take those bills up and make changes as they see fit and send them back to the House for reconciliation. Harry Reid however won't even let those 30 House bills come to the floor of the Senate because he doesn't want Democrats to be on record supporting or opposing them. And you talk about bi-partisanship? That's humorous...

Funny how they managed to block stuff when the Democrats locked them out in the hall with their Super Majorities, Winger.

The fact of the matter is...Barack Obama came into office saying that he had plans to fix the economy and he was going to hit the ground running! Then he put the economy on a back burner and used the crisis to go after universal health care instead. All those people on long term unemployment? They can thank Barack for that. His priorities didn't start with them or creating jobs.

Liberal mathematics is so much fun to watch. Not sure how it's figured, but it's fun to watch.

In january 2009 when the Big 0 entered office there were real live Americans in real live jobs and there was a real live number that totaled that amount.

The same was true in September of 2011.

Those numbers and the difference is shown below. Just as a quick key to decipher the 2 line table below, if 2 million jobs had been created, the number in 2011 would be about 135,563,000. It's about 4.2 million shy of that mark.

What say you, Liberals?

Total American jobs:

2009: 133,563,000 (January)
2011: 131,334,000 (September)

Barrack Hussein Obama stands a good chance to be the first President since Hoover, another one termer, to leave office with a net loss of jobs vs. when he entered office.

You mean the FDR Depression where he kept unemployment at 20% for 7 years and the economy only started to improve after Hitler conquered France in 1940?

Indeed. And who is it that calls Republicans obstructionists? :eusa_whistle:

Yes Bush left Obama with a mess. And it took a long time to climb out of the greast depression. I suspect things will go slow as long as we have the do nothing House of Rep.
So Obama and the Statists in Congress double and triple down on it while pointing the boney finger of indignation at Bush...

Really?

"He who knows not and knows not he knows not, is a fool.
Shun him.

He who who know not and knows he knows not, is ignorant.
Teach him.

He who knows and knows not he knows, is asleep.
Wake him.

He who knows and knows he knows, is a leader.
Follow him."

-Arabian Proverb.

So we have a president who has promised to do many things and has succeeded only in making the wrong moves at the wrong times with the wrong people for the wrong reasons.

Which part of the proverb above best describes the Big 0?

There should be another line:

He who spends money he an't got and just keeps spending like a pimp with three days to live is a moron.
Cut off his allowance.

People think that with the proper leadership things will get back to how they once were. I have been told by my brother in law, who works in finance, and advises the government on the present crisis, that the world we once knew is gone. Things are going to be totally different, we are not going back to statis quo, the world economy has been fucked that bad.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!!

After 8 years of blaming Clinton, and decades of blaming Carter, you crybabies need to deal with it.

"Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed." - Michelle "Eva Braun" Obama

LOL, by bills to save the AUTO INDUSTRY? or you mean to save a COUPLE of auto companies for his union buds?

the numbers don't lie...you all will just have to deal with it. That is why his approvals are in the low 40's....tsk tsk

Two out of three aint bad

And his union buds had to accept severe cutbacks in wages and benefits. While the auto companies are now returning to profitability, the workers who took cuts to save them have not seen any payback

The bail out of GM was sold on the lie that it would allow GM to avoid bankruptcy due to the notion that nobody would buy a car from a company that was bankrupt.

Bankruptcy would have allowed a reorganization free of the UAW. This was not allowed to happen.

GM did eventually go through bankruptcy, but the Union was preserved as a part of the bail out and the bond holders were relieved of their cash.

The union agreements are generally regarded as the reason that the American Auto maker is less productive dollar for dollar than those who work for the foreign nameplates, many of which are manufactured in America without the corrosive pain of unionism.

The TARP was used to bail out the auto industry and the Big 0, Nancy and Harry engineered it as a political pay off and pay back and bribe. The trivecta of graft. Since it was also used to bail out a manufacturing firm and had nothing to do with the troubled assets, it was also misused.

The whole thing is really a miracle of modern corruption.

It was a defining moment for the Democrat Party.

That's another reason it stinks to the heavens.

It was passed by device and not by the regular procedures of the Congress. If they had tried to pass it by the regular procedures of the Congress, it would have failed as the 41st vote had arrived.

Do you have any ideas on why the Senate won't take any of these up, pass a version that does not contain the poison pills and work it out in committee?
