Obama breaks his campaign promise of no more earmarks. So what else is new? Blame Bush, break promises, spend this country to ruin. Some guy, huh?

This ass doesn't even know proper grammar and he's the Chief of Staff.

How one could structure a SPENDING BILL OF THIS SIZE and NOT include specific projects I cannot imagine.

I suppose they could just shunt ALL SPENDING to the states to dole out but I doubt that they states would invest in things like GREEN TECHNOLOGY, since their fiscal problems are much more dire.

If your complaint is that there's a lot of pork in this bill, I'm inclined to agree with you, though.

pork is in the eye of the beholder...as was said on many news shows yesterday if a bill has money allocated for a senaters state he will say it is good cause its for HIS state but if nothing is in it for him its pork and its bad

Unfortunately, some so-called Republicans threw their pet projects into the budget. All these b-turds care about is getting re-elected. We need term limits and real people, not politicians, to represent the citizens. And as far as Obama goes, I don't see leadership and strength, but rather arrogance. Every proposal he put outs he makes sure to say this is what the American people voted for. Just like every other politician, they never want to assume responsibility. How many times is Obama and his cronies going to say they inherited this mess. Leaders don't continually blame others, they move on and try to fix the mess. Yet Obama's agenda, policies and increased spending on crap is only going to make things worse. This guy has no clue, but makes sure to surround himself with only those who agree with him. I still can't believe a snake oil salesmen, community organizer is running our Country. Just shows how stupid and misguided many Americans are. If the media would just hold Obama to the fire rather than hold his hand and throw him softball questions, you would see just how incompetent he is. How long will the ass kissing media protect this guy?

TwoGreen made some excellent points. I might also add ... Jr. did the same thing with his only with mostly Republican pork. Pork is pork, regardless of which side does it, ignoring on type just because you support it and attacking the other just because you don't like it doesn't change the fact that both sides do it.

Absolutely! Arlen Specter (R-PA), who voted yes on the stim package, made damn sure $10 billion for the National Institutes of Health, his pet project, wasn't cut back.

I only WISH that Rosetta was Olympia's pet project.

It's long overdue due for some economic stimulation

Precisely, you said it yourself. "Pork is pork." Obama said, "NO MORE PORK!" His first spending bill is nothing BUT pork. I'm not surprised, but it's pretty amusing watching the lefties eat this shit up and pretend to love it. And at the same time, it's frustrating watching Obama get away with whatever he wants and not getting called on his bullshit by any viable media source. Although I did enjoy Glenn Beck's rant on Thursday.

I think the correct title for this thread would be, "Obama will sign spending bill BECAUSE OF earmarks."
