The fact is, there aren't many options on the table. There are a bunch of old people headed for all kinds of medical cost in the new age of keeping people alive well beyond anything we've ever known. It's a for profit business, medicine and insurance, and medicaid can't keep up with making insurance companies and medical communities rich while everyone expects all the latest and best care. For the system to continue in it's current, for profit form, the majority of Americans will have to concede that they just don't get good care. That would be reserved for those that can pay for it.
