I don't think that is pertinent at this point. If they are SCHEDULED for layoffs, (regardless if it actually happens or not) they have to be notified. That is the law. Using taxpayer funds for litigation fees is certainly not legal.

It doesn't matter whether lay offs occur or do not occur. The crime is complete when the government coerced these companies into breaking the law and agreed to pay all costs associated with prosecution.

obama isn't trying to prevent panic, he's trying to prevent people voting against him. The result is, that while everyone already knows that the lay offs are a distinct possibility, they don't know WHO will be getting those notices. In trying to stop some unemployed people from voting against him, obama has increased suspicion among ALL the employees that it could be them.

Please work on your reading comprehension. This thread is not about the defense jobs that might be cut. It is about the fact that Obama has asked companies to not follow the law regarding lay off notices because he's afraid that if the companies follow the law, he will lose votes. In addition, he has told them that IF they listen to him and DON'T follow the law, if they get sued or fined for the violations, then the government, (taxpayers) will pay all their legal fees. You should learn to pay attention and quit trying to derail threads.
