Two articles in today's LA Times report the surge led attacks in Afghanistan are going well.

...the assault on Marja had the look of classic warfare, it was still war in the context of counterinsurgency where the goal is less to kill the enemy than to win the hearts and minds of the populace.
Led by US Marines and the International Nato Force along with Afgah troops.

Yes. Because if we'd just leave them alone, those nice kids from al qaeda would never hurt a fly.

it's not too often I have anything overly complimentary to say about this President, but for whatever the reason, he's at least making SOME intelligent moves at long last.

Oh brother.

If you go back and read what I actually wrote, you will see that I said nothing about killing actual kids.

No in a way we have been building them up.

so war/building up?

how much money have you used in the entire afghan operation?

I am not sure that I personally have been out a dime.
Ohter than a few contributions and donations to various troop baskets, etc.
The govt however has spent a lot on credit over there.

yes sorry..typo... how much has the government used of our "money"?

lets take a look at the bigger picture..

1) we invited the taliban to texas for pipeline contract talks. in 99 i believe
2) we dropped over 350 tons of DEPLETED URANIUM on afghanistan
3) of the "19 hijackers" 1 or 2 of them were from afghanistan.
4) how many american troops died in afghanistan?
5) how much money will the taxpayers have to pay for the afghan war?
6) how many innocent afgans have been killed?

.......for what exactly?

what could the reason possibly be to outweigh the 6 things i listed?

"they wanna attack our freedom"?

I ain't really disagreeing with you, but hey at least Afganistan did have Taliban in it. Unlike Iraq... But in Afganistan we should have only kicked the propper asses hard for a bit and got out, not a big occupation and nationbuilding.

The Brits have reported their first death during this Op.

Semper Fi to all who are currently involved.

what's up with the cheerleading bs?

do you have anything else to do besides make yourself feel and look good about some whacked out notion that mimics patriotism?

go down to the Post Office and salute a flag...it would mean more than your idiotic post here.

luv
