1. Hidden beneath the pleasant campaign façade of Senator Obama was a ruthless willingness to replace the audacity of hope with the audacity of raw, ruthless power. He has brought the corrupt Chicago-stlye politics to the White House. A clever fellow, he hides duplicity behind secrecy, rhetoric, and legalisms. Interestingly, he and President Reagan share captivating, eloquent rhetorical skills, but that is where the similarity ends. For Reagan, clarity was his ally, and he used it to articulate the values of the American people. In contrast, Obama, the spokesman for the secular-socialist Left, knows that clarity is his enemy. This is why Obamas most honest comments have been sans teleprompter, when he went off message.

"...Obamas most honest comments..."
2. Example: In January 2008, when Barack Obama was trying to put some distance between himself and other Democrats seeking the party's nomination, he touted his green policies. In particular, he talked about his intentions to put regulations in place that would shut down coal plants around the country. Speaking in San Francisco, candidate Obama said: "If somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can, it's just that it will bankrupt them."
Obama Makes Good on Promise to Bankrupt the Coal Industry
a. Unscripted, and out of character for the candidate whose normal campaign rhetoric did not include promises to bankrupt an industry.
b. A record-high 57 generators will shut down in 2012, representing 9 gigawatts of electrical capacity, according to EIA. In 2015, nearly 10 gigawatts of capacity from 61 coal-fired generators will be retired .The cost of compliance with anticipated and existing Federal environmental regulations such as the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards (MATS) is a factor, the EIA noted. Particularly in the case of older, smaller units that are not used heavily, owners may conclude it is more cost efficient to retire plants rather than make additional investments. 3. Example: At a fundraiser in San Francisco, he inadvertently spoke his mind about small-town folks: they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
Mayhill Fowler: Obama: No Surprise That Hard-Pressed Pennsylvanians Turn Bitter
4. Example: Roanoke, Virginia saw Obamas real view of Americans, and of business: If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen." "You didn't build that" and income redistribution
a. "President Obama now has a television ad playing that attempts to calm the uproar. "Of course Americans build their own businesses," he states, looking directly into the camera. "Every day, hardworking people sacrifice to meet a payroll, create jobs, and make our economy run. And what I said was that we need to stand behind them, as America always has."
Well, that's not what he originally said, but it sounds good, sounds better than trying to stir up class resentments and votes by saying that freeloading bosses in America are riding around each day on the collective's roads and bridges and not paying their "fair share."
There's no mention from the White House about how America's top income groups contribute a disproportionate amount in taxes to pay for all the roads, bridges, tunnels, Senate salaries, White House parties, green bankruptcies, missiles and bombs. "The rich" are far from getting a "free ride." "Ibid.
Americans didn't know the real Obama in '08.....
....but do now.
His dismissal from the people's house is more of a sure thing than 'fresh fried fox in a forest fire.'
Outstanding thread............spot on.
America has never elected a true blue liberal and wont again. Independents..........not the most astute politically, got hoodwinked in the summer of 2008 thinking this guy was some new kind of politician. Indeed, they do know him now.........and Im giddy waiting around for election night in this place, which is going to be a morgue by 10PM. Of course, I wont be around until later.......will be having too much fun watching the MSNBC anchors trying to report the results while sitting on a greased telephone pole. Been looking forward to this for a long, long time and its going to be the single most epic night of my life in terms of watching politics.
I see it as the baptism scene in "The Godfather".....
