As long as when her daughter was born her mother was a US Citizen and had lived in the US prior to the birth at some point, the child would still be a US citizen even if the mother became a German citizen. On her 18th Birthday she would be free to accept that citizenship no matter what her mother wanted.

Wrong as long as she filed the birth with the US Embassy when it happened all would be well. And a Case easily made after the fact to prove the details. It only takes ONE parent, and especially if the parent is the Mother.
Why would Obama's Grandmother say that he was born in Kenya? If that's true, then someone in Hawaii either had to be bribed to certify his birth certificate or they did it willingly.
