Obama ‘Beyond the Breaking Point’ with Executive Action

What a rube!

Find me one President in the last 100 years who wrote less EOs than Obama has. And I include Ford and JFK who served less than one full term. And Carter, Bush Sr., and Taft who all served only one term.

Go ahead. Find me one who wrote less EOs than Obama has.

Then explain how Obama has "pushed the envelope beyond the breaking point on executive orders".

Before you rush into some rant about "unconstitutional" or "dictator Obama" or somesuch bullshit, be prepared to provide specific evidence of Executive power that only Obama has exercised.

Ready? Go!

Really? Were they such things as Obama unconstitutionally declaring congress in Recess? Or unconstitutionally ignoring federal immigration law? There are lots of meaningless executive orders, it’s the substance of them that counts.....Pure numbers include meaningless ceremonial executive orders. Obama’s a power grabber, unchallenged from the mainstream media unlike others

Woo! You have had ALLLLL day, and you can't find a President who wrote less EOs than Obama!

OH! I was SO hoping you would bring up the amnesty thing. Thank you very much for doing so.

The amnesty for illegals who were brought here as minors was not an EO, dipshit. Try again. You rubes keep repeating that lie over and over.

And the "amnesty" was not unconstitutional. Did you know Bush Sr. granted an identical amnesty to Chinese immigrants? Of course you didn't. That's how lies of omission work.

USCIS - Deferred Enforced Departure

Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) is in the President’s discretion to authorize as part of his power to conduct foreign relations. Although DED is not a specific immigration status, individuals covered by DED are not subject to removal from the United States, usually for a designated period of time.

As for the recess appointments, there was never any ruling on what constituted a recess. Now there is, and Obama came down on the wrong side.

How many times was Bush overturned in court? You want to label all those times as him acting unconstitutionally?

You really need to think about the benchmarks you are setting. When we measure Obama by your own criteria, he does not even approach other Presidents for "unconstitutional" actions that have been overturned in federal court, or the number of EOs he has written.

So keep working on finding that "breaking point" he is at which no other President has reached.

Basically..congress just never declared recess.

Recess should mean..that.

No one doing any work? That's recess. And that was the situation. There was no one even in the halls of congress when they didn't declare it.

Simple.

Ok we'll amend the constitution so as you can declare congress in recess as it is right now both houses haft to agree to recess. It’s not up to Obama or you

Correction to my post. Ronald Reagan isn't the all time leader in EO's.

Franklin Roosevelt is: 3,728 in 12 years.

That's funny. When Gov. Mary Fallin (R-OK) issued an executive order which specifically circumvented the will of the legislature and imposed a strict, no-smoking policy on all state college campuses, I didn't hear any Republican's going on about her overstepping her authority or going beyond the limits. When George Bush issued any of his 291 EO's, as opposed to Barack Obama's 144 so far, nobody yelled about that either. Nor, were there questions from the right about Ronald Reagan's authority when he issued the all time record of 381 EO's.

Sessions is just engaging in the usual Republican deceitfulness when it comes to anything Obama does, or doesn't do.

WRONG!!!!

This is really the only thing that stuck out with me in Obama's boring speech more executive orders...

Obama said if Congress “won’t act soon to protect future generations, I will. I will direct my Cabinet to come up with executive actions we can take, now and in the future, to reduce pollution, prepare our communities for the consequences of climate change, and speed the transition to more sustainable sources of energy.”

Sessions is right..

Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) says President Barack Obama’s plan to take executive action on climate change worries him.

“This president has already, in my opinion, pushed the envelope beyond the breaking point on executive orders, unilateral actions, actions that Congress has specifically, openly rejected,” Sessions told CNSNews.com shortly after Obama delivered the State of the Union address.

“He then puts his bureaucrats to work to figure out every way possible through their regulations, through their enforcement policies, to place the country under the direction he wants it to go under his rule. That’s not consistent with American history and democracy. I think it’s dangerous and we need to work at it.”

Executive Order 10990 allows the Government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.

* Executive Order 10995 allows the government to seize and control the communication media.

* Executive Order 10997 allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels, and minerals.

* Executive Order 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision.

* Executive Order 11001 allows the government to take over all health education and welfare functions.

* Executive Order 11002 designates the Postmaster General to operate a national registration of all persons.

* Executive Order 11003 allows the government to take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft.

* Executive Order 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate and establish new locations for populations.

* Executive Order 11005 allows the government to take over railroads, inland waterways, and public storage facilities.

* Executive Order 11049 assigns emergency preparedness function to federal departments and agencies, consolidating 21 operative Executive Orders issues over a fifteen-year period.

* Executive Order 11051 specifies the responsibility of the Office of Emergency Planning and gives authorization to put all Executive Orders into effect in times of increased international tensions and economic or financial crisis.

* Executive Order 11310 grants authority to the Department of Justice to enforce the plans set out in Executive Orders, to institute Industrial support, to establish judicial and legislative liaison, to control all aliens, to operate penal and correctional institutions, and to advise and assist the President.

* Executive Order 11921 allows the Federal Emergency Preparedness Agency to develop plans to establish control over the mechanisms of production and distribution of energy sources, wages, salaries, credit, and the flow of money in U.S. financial institutions in any undefined national emergency. It also provides that when the president declares a state of emergency, Congress cannot review the action for six months.

It is more than clear that Obama is planning for the total control and takeover of America via Martial Law. Food, energy, transportation, work, banking, and health…he has it covered.

...and NUMBERS of EOs and damage to the Country with abusive EOs are not apples to apples comparrisons.

All of these were issued by JFK. Not Obama.

Issued by LBJ.

Issued by Ford.

You mean JFK, LBJ, and Ford were planning for the takeover of America via martial law.

Ooooooops! That did not happen!

Looks like you just made a complete ass of yourself!

Please see a psychiatrist for your runaway paranoia.

Sorry, I don't have time to stay on this board day and night like some of you people, some of us haft to work..

So you have time to read and regurgitate complete bullshit, but no time to think critically and fact check your masters' missives?

Obama Administration’s Recess Appointments to the NLRB Declared Unconstitutional: All NLRB Decisions Since January 2012 Overturned

In Noel Canning v. NLRB, the D.C. Circuit Court recently ruled that President Obama lacked the authority to make three recess appointments to the five-member National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), rendering the recess appointments unconstitutional. The ruling was based on the court’s finding that the appointments were procedurally flawed because the President bypassed the Senate’s “advise and consent” duty by making the appointments while the Senate was still in session. As a result of the Noel Canning decision, the NLRB now only has one duly-appointed board member and cannot take formal action because it lacks the three members required for a quorum. Additionally, the D.C. Circuit’s ruling effectively nullifies every case that has been decided by the NLRB since January 2012, including the following notable and controversial decisions:

Take a guess how many times Bush got whipped in federal court for his actions? I bet you have no idea.

Here's one: Bush Overruled in Death Penalty Dispute - ABC News

Hamden v. Rumsfeld was another.

Boumediene v. Bush., another.

Al-Marri v. Wright, another. The judge ruled indefinite military detention of a US resident "would have disastrous consequences for the Constitution — and the country."

What do you have vis a vis Obama? Oh, yeah. Recess appointments.

Hardly a fucking "breaking point", eh?

It's good to know you support a rapist murderer, however those certainly do no rise to the level of a president unconstitutionally declaring congress in recess some of that was in the aftermath of 9/11 and agree we can't detain American citizen indefinitely so that was good ruling

The OU Daily is Republican? Let's hear from some Republican members of the legislature. Better yet, let's ask why they didn't smack her down over the use of EO's.
