NY Times assigns Editor to Watch FOX News to get news scoops? Really?

50X less stupid than the idiots he was illuminating.

Doocy: Plagiarism? You decide.

hard to say, since there was no illumination going on there, just propagandizing.

she said obama had had problems with perceived plagiarism after he took deval patrick's tagline, which, as i recall was the case. she said nothing about the speech that had been just shown before we were switched back to whoever that cackling moron hosting the video is. i didn't bother watching it past there because it's obvious that there is nothing there, just tape being edited to present a one sided argument while laughing boy does his shtick.

the funny thing is that this is what fox is constantly accused of doing.
....

....
I don't feel like retyping it all...
All I can say is if you didn't bother viewing it all, no sense discussing it more with you.

....
The fact of the matter is that those who use propagandizing rhetoric are easily identified by most informed folks almost immediately. Those who recognize it don't want to waste their time with it as they value thinking for themselves.

(I just typed out out a several paragraphed post, and damn! multi-tabbing back for a moment cause it to go bu-bye, as I hit the X out by mistake...damn. I hate when that happens.)

The tape is edited by Fox, who takes two COMPLETELY different speeches - one from Cuomo, and one from Obama, and asks ridiculously if it is an example of plagiarism. Yeah, the words "the" and "and" were similar. lol.

Someone asked for an example of the stupid stuff coming from Fox, that was memorable. Doocy is such an idiot.

I asked about stupid stuff from Fox and what you presented wasn't from Fox. Now was it?

I've been a loyal Fox news watcher since 9/11. I watch CNN as well. and our local news, but not the major networks much. I have always been a fan of the O'Reilly show, even if I don't agree with him all the time. Never watched Hannity or Glen Beck until a few weeks ago. All this backlash against these guys has stirred my curiosity, and I'm sure I am not alone.

Keep it up libs. I'm sure Fox is loving it.

is the guy hosting the video as stupid as he appears?

I heard devaul's speech before Obama's and yes Obama snagged many of the lines out of it. I remember it when it happened all the local talk radio guys were having a field day over it. Using it to hammer on Obama.

Obama borrowed some of the speech that Devaul's speechwriters wrote, no big deal to me but he did do it.

You guys are talking about my back yard politics here in MA and I love it :).

Of course I did, that's how I know it didn't come from Fox. TYT is not FOX.

The NYT never learns. They sat on the Lewinsky story for months until Drudge reported on it. They had a reporter just literally making up stories who was finally caught. They got scooped by the Enquirer on the Edwards scandal. Plus many many more atrocities and now this total blindness on ACORN.

And they're not the least bit embarrassed?

This was nothing about Duval's speech (who was advising Obama at the time).... This was a speech by Cuomo. Fox News' Doocy claimed it was almost verbatim. Verbatim. That is his quote.

Then you listen to the two speeches and only the words "to" "was" and one other word was the same. It was freakin' hilarious.

Did the title grab your attention?

WOW: The NY Times Assigns An Editor To Watch Fox News | Online | Mediaite

mediaite.com said:
Apparently part of the problem is that Times editors do not watch enough Fox. Or any Fox as the case may be. Says Jill Abramson there was an “insufficient tuned-in-ness to the issues that are dominating Fox News and talk radio.”

Some editors told me [Hoyt] they were not immediately aware of the Acorn videos on Fox, YouTube and a new conservative Web site called BigGovernment.com. When the Senate voted to cut off all federal funds to Acorn, there was not a word in the newspaper or on its Web site. When the New York City Council froze all its funding for Acorn and the Brooklyn district attorney opened a criminal investigation, there was still nothing.

Which is a major problem. You may not like Glenn Beck, you may think he is a nut job. You may think what he does is not journalism, you may think that in a perfect world of objective, reasoned, researched news reporting he should not have a place. But you ignore him at your own peril. Actually, there is the argument to be made that the Times ignores him at everyone’s peril — it is their job, after all, to watch and report on things the rest of us may not have the stomach for or any interest in. They are supposed to be watching Fox News so that other people don’t have to, not the other way around.

Damn...

AutoZona has been outed...

I would have thought the plagiarism in the 2003 was embarrassing enough for them, but they just kept on shamelessly. Plagiarism by a publisher? Amazing.

Do you really think Fox News is going to have a clip of that idiocy on their website?

That would be the only way I would believe it. Anyone could edit footage to fit an agenda. How can you be certain that these clips were authentic? Because some numbnuts at TYT said so?
Ah, so there is a Fox News Steve Doocy lookalike, complete with a Fox screen to match Fox's studio...and Malkin chiming in with Doocy. Maybe she is a lookalike too.

lol.

Never mind that I heard the freaking thing on Fox News Channel itself.

Geezez.

Has anyone ever visited NBC studios in NY? While the anchors are reporting, they have monitors on their desks tuned into the other networks. Thought that was interesting.Next time I go I'll ask if any of them are tuned into Fox. My guess is if they aren't now, they will be soon.

A long time ago, I did. Bryant Gumble is short (so that gives you an idea of how long it has been).

You cannot be that stupid. Oh wait... yes you can!!

The clips that was shown of Obama and whoever the hell else that was they were allegedly making the comparison with could have been edited, could it not?

Fer chrissakes...that was Mario Cuomo (you don't know him??) - and it was alleged by Doocy the speeches were 'practically verbatim.' Then showed clips of both, and asked: Plagiarism? They sounded NOTHING Alike. That was what was so funny. And I SAW the original footage when Doocy Dooched it. It was SOO funny. & Stooopid.

You didn't even watch the clip, did you?
I'm not crazy about the TYT commentary - but the clips he showed were accurate.

For those who might not be as brain dead as you, and anyone that wants a laugh:
this clip from the Daily Show impales that ridiculous Fox News Doocy here:

Video: Headlines - Baracknophobia | The Daily Show | Comedy Central

Bring it to 5:28. Just
