Nudity

Here in Florida it's the blue-haired church ladies standing between us and more clothing optional beaches.... perhaps things are different behind the orange curtain.

Yep, here in the Peoples Republic, it is the left who have gone in an shut down all the nude beaches. There are no legal ones in California.

There are loads of them in CA. Baker beach in SF for anyone who dares the fog!

Update: Florida is about to put up signs for another C/O beach, this time in St Lucie county.

Our elected officials have finally decided to listen to the hotel and restaurant owners in the county as well as those of us who'll use it. Turns out that the parking fees alone for Haulover in North Miami run 7 figures a year. Cash-strapped counties promoting freedom for a fee. Only in America.

If you visit, stop by Blind Creek Beach in St Lucie County, just north of the nuclear power plant. If nobody is there, go 5 miles north to John Brooks Beach.

IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU FIND AND COMPLY WITH THE SIGNS THAT INFORM EVERYONE THAT THE CLOTHING OPTIONAL BEACH IS THAT WAY --> BEFORE GETTING NAKED.

Florida Winter!

Got your attention, didn't I?

But this is a serious question; is nudity wrong, and something we should be ashamed of?

When I was young, in the 1960's, nudity was no big deal. People ran around without clothes on a fairly regular basis.

I remember when my German Baptist grandparents bought land in Northern California, before the house was built while we were visiting, there were 20 people bathing in the creek, all naked. Men, women, children.

Nudity of children particularly was common. Kids swam naked all the time. In fact, until 12 or 13, no one thought anything of naked kids running around.

Somewhere along the line, attitudes changed and America became the prude of all prudes. This is strange, since it coincided with the rise of pornography - as if porn is okay, but nudity verboten. I can't help wonder if there is a connection, if the porn sullied the sight of a human body? Especially in regard to children, if the rise of porn sexualized what was never sexual in the past?

So, is the human body in and of itself "dirty?" Is the current obsession with stamping out nudity - especially among teens who text pictures of themselves to each other, a sign of societal sickness?

Thoughts?

Some 1970 docuporno (heh) included a line of like, "If the human body is a divine creation, then shouldn't we enjoy its' display and admire it?"
