NFL Owners have ratified deal

The Fantasy League has to have a money pool $, even if it's 10$ or 20$ dollars per person (team). Otherwise, People flake out on changing their rosters and that gives teams with better records easier wins. I already went through it at Vannity.

I got a league that I have done for years, and we will need a few extra people if you're truly loyal. So pm me if you're a serious NFL fan. I don't care about your politics.

I also wouldn't mind possibly joining another league here as I have on other boards. It's kind of cool because you can communicate better from a thread here then you can on the fantasy chat boards that don't even allow you to post images or links. ~BH
meh. the need for money involvement shows you're not really a fan of the game for the game's sake.

plus... I'm unlucky at gambling.

The weird thing is that people equate Sports with Government.
The two are extremely similar. Packers/Bears. Republicans/Democrats. Every team has it's star players, team leaders and fan base, fan rituals, and fan loyalties. If you start looking at political debate that way, suddenly a LOT of it makes total sense.

Scary, pathetic, irritating sense.

Sooooo, the players don't like this agreement? Just what the flip has the NFLPA been doing all this time? Were they in the same room as the owners?

Well, You're a fucking idiot then. I have been playing fantasy football for 8 years and have never joined or created a League that involved money. I don't gamble. I just came to the realization that some players are flakes, and then it ruins the entire Season. Yeah sure, I am not a die hard NFL fan? Whatever you say FuckO. :cuckoo: ~BH

As a Union Rep in the company I work for, and having seen/read a bit on this in the last day or so, I wouldn't get my hopes up too high sports fans.

This really looks to me like a ploy by the Owners to try and shift public opinion from the NFLPA to the Owners side of the table. "See, we made a deal. Just ignore that we didn't really tell the players what it is or get their opinion on it, but we made a deal, and now the players are the ones who are now denying you the sport you love."

The NFLPA is smarter than to allow that to happen. If they decide this deal isn't worth their time, they'll come out and explain it. In fact, from what I've seen on ESPN earlier today they're already doing it.

Yeah you could be correct about that. I am sure the owners took a page out of Obama and Harry Ried's debt crisis playbook. :eusa_shhh: ~BH

You noticed that too, hunh?!

Weird that the owners would try to make the players the bad guys, 'coz that's who the fans watch....not the damned owners!
:D

BigF, Well, I respect a good sense of humor. The only thing worse than telling me that I am not a true NFL fan would be telling me that I really am not into Women. It's simpley not true. In fact, I despise people who gamble. Gambling is a fools game, and I have always believed that.

In my opinion, there are only two seasons really. The NFL Season, and waiting for the NFL season. I could care less about winning any money. It's all about keeping people loyal to the league so that it's equally competitive. Loved Stripes! ~BH

It makes all the sense in the world. Starting Monday we're going to hear every day what meetings, practices, games, etc... are going to start being canceled due to the lockout. Up to this point public opinion has been largely in the player's favor because the owners locked them out. NOW, the owners strategy seems to be about pushing the blame back onto the players.... "See, WE want to play. The PLAYERS declined the offer WE had already voted to approve. THEY'RE keeping you from having football to watch on Sunday afternoons."

The other thing that makes me believe this is a bit of politics is the "discussions" on how to recertify the Union. After the 1987 strike, there was no official Union for 2-3 years. That makes the Owners nervous, and rightfully so. That's why they're demanding the Union recertify ASAP as a condition of the agreement.

In my mind this is simply an admission by the owners that this is not going to come to a quick resolution. Of course I could be totally wrong and they could be talking about training camp on Tuesday morning.

we need football

No we don't. At least I don't. Not if it's going to be the same watered-down, socialist crap that we've seen in the NFL since the 1994 CBA was ratified. Then again I'm not sure that what I've seen on the field in the NFL over the last decade even qualifies to be called "football".

So is the NFL season back on? Thank goodness! I just don't know WHAT I'd do on Sunday if I didn't have 9 hours of Football to watch!

You're a Browns fan, aren't ya? ;)

Just teasin'.
