New York schools drop Michelle O’s lunch program

Whatever happened to kids bring peanut butter an jelly sandwiches to school or a bologna sandwich or even a cheese sandwich, They are not that expensive all it takes is a concerned parent to make sure the kid eats.
So many schools decided that due to peanut allergies in some, no peanut butter is allowed.

Its the progressive way :dunno:

we had a chart of all the kids who had allergies in the kitchen. An out of six hundred kids there really wasn't that many. a dozen or so. We kept our eyes on them. but they still wanted to do away with peanut and jelly. they finally relented and LET them have it three days a week...aren't they so kind?

My goodness, they weren't going to feed the masses with that peanut butter sandwich, just their own kid! That is going too far!

Some people are extremely allergic to even the slightest hint of peanuts...so much that even smelling peanut butter can set them off.

Illinois 8217 second largest district drops Michelle O 8217 s menu after hummus is deemed too fatty - EAGnews.org powered by Education Action Group Foundation Inc.

CHICAGO – Hummus is too fatty, pretzels are too salty. Even hard-boiled eggs and yogurt don’t make the cut.

Those restrictions and others imposed on schools through the revamped “healthier” National School Lunch Program convinced officials in Illinois’ second largest school district to forfeit nearly $1 million in federal lunch aid to serve students food they want to eat, rather than what the government tells them to, CBS reports.
