In '73, Egypt was armed by the Soviets and not very well.
In 2012, Egypt is very well armed by the Americans, as are many other Arab nations.
Turkey, hardly a big mate of Israel's, has massive armed forces.

A combined war against Israel could be extremely damaging or a totally disaster to Israel.
Only US pressure is holding attacks back, if that slips or Israel goes too far....

Yes, you'd have thought that 'supporting' Gaza could have at least materialised in Egypt taking the gazan children to safety. Either the Egyptians don't want them, or Hamas don't want to lose their photo-ops, or both.

This war has been going on since 1948, so it's not "new". Israelis just don't have a clue about how to win a war. And they take advice from the US, the biggest losers of them all in Nam, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Somalia, SOMALIA!!!!!!!!, Lebanon, the war on drugs, illegal immigration...

Yes, you'd have thought that 'supporting' Gaza could have at least materialised in Egypt taking the gazan children to safety. Either the Egyptians don't want them, or Hamas don't want to lose their photo-ops, or both.

Interesting thought. Perhaps Egypt could impose upon Israel to delay the assault until they can move Gaza's non-combatants out of harms way. Naaaaah.
