Being the USMB's self proclaimed resident Egyptologist :), I thought that I'd share these nifty links on ancient Egypt, just in case anyone is interested....

http://www.egyptology.com - a jumping off point for a lot of other Egypt related sites

http://www.thebanmappingproject.com/ - website (with a lot of graphics) of the project associated with the mapping of Thebes (one of ancient Egypt's capitals) and of the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens (Valley of the Kings as in where King Tut is buried ---- his mummy still rests in its original tomb)

http://www.ashmol.ox.ac.uk/gri/4tut.html - a photo history of the discovery and excavation of King Tut's tomb with the original photos from 1922-26

http://www.eternalegypt.org/EternalEgyptWebsiteWeb/HomeServlet - a very well done site on Ancient Egypt.... lots and lots of graphics, interactive and otherwise.....

http://www.gizapyramids.org/code/emuseum.asp - another well done site, this one focuses on the Giza pyramid complex (that's where the Great Pyramid is)

http://www.pyramidcam.com/index.html - speaking of pyramids.... this is a webcam site that points at the Giza pyramids, updates every 30 seconds during the daylight hours.... great sunset shots, I read that the sunrise is great too.... fyi... Cairo time is 7 hours ahead of East Coast Time, so plan accordingly....

Hope that this sparks some interest in the land of the Nile!!!!!

Uh - you DO know Egyptian gods were actually a race from outer space, known as the Goul'd. They enslaved Humans, using technology to convince people of the Goul'd's godness.
