when nc got the lotto...nc allowed vending machines. you are suppose to scan your drivers license to prove age. sooooooooooo i am at the local food lion and see a vending machine...i had a dollar burning a hole in my hand so i went over and played. i did not have to scan a license therefore minors are now allowed to play the lotto????


Players will insert their drivers license into the machines to prove they are 18 years or older. Players will pay for the tickets at the machine.

Never saw or heard of a lotto vending machine that required a driver's license to purchase tickets... BTW, the best way to win $25.00 on an Illinois scratch-off lotto ticket is to buy $148.00 worth of them. Out of that $148.00 worth of tickets you will most likely get 6 or 8 free tickets, maybe a $2.00 or $5.00 winning ticket and if you're really very very lucky you might get a $25.00 ticket. Scratch off tickets here in Illinois are a very bad investment.
