There were suicides in Atlantic City. There were elderly people who lost their life savings when Trump went public. Contractors who lost their homes, their businesses, and their life's work.

These are things that Trump never faced any consequences for. He bragged about how much money he made personally from the bankruptcies. After his 4th bankruptcy, American banks stopped lending to him. That's when Russians started buying his condos.

I also fail to understand why successful business people would vote for Trump, having seen the disaster of the first administration. More than 1/4 of Trump's top staffers, cabinet members, and other senior appointees were gone in the first 12 months of the Administration. Either fired or leaving under a cloud of scandal and/or fiscal impropriety.

It generally takes about 6 months before you've really got a handle on any new job you undertake, and know how the system works. In the Trump Administration, few people lasted that long. The administrative chaos created meant that none of the stated priorities and campaign promises were kept.

This is about grievance, and the fact that they think Trump is their last chance to have their grievances addressed. So they've dropped all standards and expectations, all of them, in favor of that one thing.
