PG County NAACP Opposes New Gun Offender Registry: DCist

NAACP opposed gun offender registry list in Prince Georges County Maryland. Why would any organization anywhere be opposed holding gun offenders more accountable? Based on the lawsuits by the NAACP against gun manufacturers, the NAACP believes that gun violence is more the fault of manufacturers vs. the perpetrators.

This mentality will not reduce violence where illegally obtained firearms are used.

Forcing Law Abiding citizens to give up their firearms is the solution?The right to bear firearms and be left alone by government, law enforcement, or media (newspapers) applies to all US Citizens...black, white, or otherwise.

Gun registry or not, people committing crimes with guns need to be held more accountable. There needs to be stiffer penalties; disincentives. When a person chooses to use a gun to commit a crime, they are more than likely using an illegal gun.

Why the focus on stripping law abiding citizens or gun manufacturers? The higher priority and focus needs to be on those that make the choice to commit a crime with a gun.

The NAALCP is for double standards....one standard for blacks and another for non-blacks.

They want the police to keep track of non-blacks' guns, but not their guns.
