I like Christianty best. The two major threads to christianity, the virgin birth and the reserection, are I feel trancendent and beautiful. I think the story of Gd getting gifts from the maji is wonderful.
It is my understanding that Islam and Judism find both stories insulting and disgusting. The muslims are more wound up about the virgin birth, but judiasm finds it repellent as well. The idea that a god of moral behavior would get a girl pregnant and stick some patsy with raising the kid is repellent. The idea Gd behaving in such a disgusting way they feel is slanderus.
For the Jews the virgin birth is bad enough. The idea god would a) have a kid, repellent in itself and b) use him as a sacrafice is slander to Gd. The Torah makes it very clear, with the story of Abraham and Issac, taht this is abhorrent.
