MSNBC on Steroids!

Oh my goodness!

He/she/it knew about that smut for 30 years and still defends it. Why does the word "unregenerate" leap to mind?

Curious, was that reluctance to capitalize "God" oversight or disrespect for infidels? Is that corporate or merely person policy?

"Smut" :rofl:

What are you, three hundred years old?

I made no comment on the case. I said I'm familiar with it. Actually somebody already noted I made no comment. Oh yeah-- that was you.

Regeneration is not in play here. My old Heathkit GR-81 had it though.

Oddly enough this thread started off with discussion about the politics of MSNBC which is not a radio station. Nor is it a TV station, merely a cable network. Not subject to the same complete set of rules which prohibit the shockingly vile things my antagonist so adores.

Now I haven't seen much of MSNBC and really don't care to but I'm sure there must be one or more devotees here who can tell us if it would be Pogo's cup of tea. Do they regularly spew vile language? Even at times when innocent children might be listening?

If they do then I'm sure they will have gained one new viewer who has seemingly cherished that thing for some thirty (30, libs) years!

No, the thread is about WBAI. The term "MSNBC" is a comparative metaphor. Reading is fun-duh-mental.

Court opinions can be a lot of things. "Cherished" is not one of them.

I do cherish archaic words but "smut", both as a word and a concept, is too old even for me.

But take the advice of the talent whose work was in that broadcast, George Carlin...

It's called Liberalism, and the Constitution it wrote. Get used to it.

"smut" ....

fascists are so funny.

If I could strum a guitar as well as I can strum liberal nerves I'd have my own folk music show on WBAI! No, wait, on MSNBC!

Sleep well - if you can with all those words racing through your head.

WBAI certainly doesn't hide where their loyalties reside!

The just announced tonight's "May Day Broadcast"

MayDay....a celebration of all things communist.

And this morning's interview was with the producer of the 'Workers Unite Film Festival.'

I swear.

If the station accepted sponsors......would the DNC jump at the chance?

And, since one can only judge others by their own character....they believe lying and cheating is pervasive....

Look at their mentors and heroes. Look at how they hate Reagan for liberating Eastern Europe from their heroes and mentors. Dem inner city elections resemble Venezuela under Chavez or Castro's Cuba and for the same reason

Eastern Europe liberated itself, and not in any way from "heroes and mentors". Ask the Hungarians of 1956 or the Czechs of 1968. They were liberating when Reagan was still a Democrat.

And cities don't run on political spectra. Mayors and city councils are managers of where the snowplows are stored; nothing to do with political philosophies.

I'd add "nice try" but that would be lying.

First of all, neither Hungary, Czechoslovakia or Poland are in "Eastern Europe"; they are smack in the MIDDLE of Europe.

Secondly, being a Hungarian myself (escaped in 1956) I know that while the efforts were heroic, both in Hungary and Czechoslovakia, the hoped for results were squashed in blood.

Without the combined efforts of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, Pope John Paul II and President Ronald Reagan there would still be a Soviet Union, with the only difference that it would be a lot stronger.

Having the good luck never having lived any city (mis)managed by Democrats, I can't say whether you are right or not about local governments.

1- "Eastern Europe" was Frank's term; I mirrored it. It's a common usage here, as a political map term, not strictly geographic.

2- Really? What did the Pope do? What did Thatcher and Reagan do, other than outspend the USSR on saber rattling?

3- Regardless of your city or any other city, political spectra simply do not factor in city administrations. They don't have the political space to do so. This bullshit about pointing to political parties in arenas where political parties are irrelevant is just so much noise. Another transparent tactic by Eliminationists. That's all it is. There's nothing fundamentally different between a Republican running a city and a Democrat running the same city. Because there's nothing to exercise in that way.

You're so cute when you're ignorant. Which is to say, you're so cute.

May Day comes from International Workers Day, which in turn was spawned by the Haymarket Riot (1886). It's been associated with the rights of workers (that's We the People for you corporate sycophants) and the struggles workers have gone through against the exploitation of workers including women and children by Management -- you know, that god whose feet you can't seem to sufficiently slobber over.

Before that for millennia it was Beltane, the annual spring festival, so the date, and the name "May Day", have been a mark on the calendar for, literally, centuries.

" May Day has long been a focal point for demonstrations by various socialist, communist and anarchist groups commemorating the 1886 Haymarket affair in Chicago."
May Day - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

" "May Day – the day which inspires fear in the hearts of the capitalists and hope in the workers – the workers the world over – will find the Communist movement this year stronger in the U. S. than at any time in its history.... The road is clear for greater achievements, and in the United States as elsewhere in the world the future belongs to Communism."

But, you look good in red.....

....dope.

-- walked right into my trappings too. The Soviet Union (what you think is "communism" and which wasn't even created until three decades after Haymarket) certainly exploited the already-existing worker's memorial day for its own ends in its eternal lust for power. For that matter so did Hitler. Just as Christianism exploited the already-extant Solstice and Hallows Eve and Lupercalia into Christmas and All Saints Day and Valentine's Day.

Take a date that's already held in esteem and stamp your brand on it. Old as the proverbial hills, naïve one. Politicians practice this shit on a daily basis. Amazingly there are still those gullible enough to not see right through it.

Follow your bliss.
