What an offensive and immoral policy. The individuals who are responsible for this policy should be fired and then made to visit the gravesites of those murdered in terrorist attacks in Israel, New York, Bali, Madrid, and London. What mindless slaves to perverse journalistic neutrality would not take sides when reporting on terrorist attacks that kill innocents?
Reuter's and AP began this, within weeks of 9/11. The media do not consider themselves 'American', at least not while being 'journalists.'
In Orwell's 1984 one of the ways in which the authorities attempted to extinguish behavior they disapproved us was to remove words from the dictionary. For example, the authorities did not want to people to think about things like democracy and liberty and so the very words 'democracy' and 'liberty' were expunged from society. Ultimately the language was to be whittled down until no deviant ideas could even be expressed in language.
Considering that, is not the BBC's and the CBC's refusal to use the word 'terrorist' a deliberate and blatant effort to undermine the War on Terror?
After all, if there is no terror, there can be no war against it.
