MSNBC Collapses to Fourth Place: Loses 12% of Viewers
MSNBC was down -12% in total viewers and -4% in the 25-54 demo.

"Morning Joe" lost -4% of its viewers, -8% in the 25 to 54 demo. Chris Hayes, Rachel Maddow, and Lawrence O'Donnell all took huge hits over last year. Hayes is down -27%, O'Donnell's down -29%, and Maddow slid -19% in total viewers. The numbers were not much better in the 25-54 demo.

MSNBC already has horrible viewship just lost another 12% of their views! LOL, they are losing to headline news! Serious headline news!

See the problem is they seek liberals as their viewing audience. Liberals get their news from purposefully faux sources like John Steward and Colbert and really aren't interested in being informed (that is why so many are so ignorant).

Who will be the next to beat them? I beat the 5th place news show isn't far behind!

Sheesh. Some of you clowns will just never learn.

Ratings have nothing to do with being "liberal" or "conservative" or "apolitical". In fact the highest rated TV shows ARE apolitical, so that's another stake through that theory's heart.

Ratings measure attention. That's it. And unless you're either buying or selling ad time on that facility, the numbers mean absolutely nothing.

Gee, this could be part of the lefty lovefest's problem...

To be sure, there’s nothing wrong with opinion-making. But MSNBC offers an awful lot of it. An analysis by Pew Research of 108 hours of cable-news programming during three days in November and December found opinion and commentary overwhelmed straight news on MSNBC by 85% to 15%. Fox News content included 55% opinion and commentary and 45% factual reporting, Pew said, while CNN content consisted of 46% opinion and commentary and 54% factual reporting.

They are overwhelmingly in Barry's corner and their outright bias is definitely affecting their continually shrinking audience. But they obviously don't care about it. It's all in the message for those idiots.

Opinion will always outsell straight news. That's because opinion is emotional and straight news is not. That was the whole thinking behind Fox Noise as it took on CNN seventeen years ago. And behind MSNBC in its current incarnation.

Straight news doesn't sell. It's dry, unemotional and straightforward. And it creates no emotional attachment; if you're watching CBS News and it drops off the air, you just shrug and to to ABC. If Fox or MSNBC goes off, you've lost an emotional tentacle. That's why those like the OP get all hung up on ratings and loyalty and who's "beating" who. To them it's a sports event and the ratings represent some kind of scoreboard.

Their error is that all of these outlets are doing whatever they can not to convey any particular information but to attract attention. Because attention means ratings, and ratings means money. That's all there is to it.

Rolling Stone doubled its readership this month. That just goes to show there's room for news not slanted towards the right wing. Apparently the fact that they had the Boston Bomber on the cover was just another phony scandal flogged by the CON media and their political lackeys.

They doubled that this month so that would be 34-36 more people that are smarter than you. :D
