Jake Gyllenhall played the detective and Hugh Jackman was the irrational father and Paul Dano was the retarded suspect. I watched it last night and it was one of the most intense dramas I have seen in a long time. The twists and turns of the plot were exceptional. On the other hand the motivation of the kidnappers didn't make much sense but true to form Hollywood turned Christian beliefs upside down and threw in gospel music as a motive for killing children. The motivation for the drunk priest killing the pedophile didn't make much sense but it was needed so the detective would recognize the photo in the house. All in all they could have done a better job with the title but it kept you on the edge of your seat for 2 1/2 hours.
