Other than the Italian made Harley, all were great bikes. Always thought I would own more bikes, but never have. I haven’t owned a bike since 1982.

I had the chance to buy a police surplus Harley 3-wheeler from my cousin back in '68, but I didn't have the $200. :206:

1965 Honda 305 Scrambler (school)
1971 Honda SL 350 (Baja)
1972 Suzuki RM 400 (MotoX)
1982 Honda 500 Single (crashed)
1983 Honda GL 650 Silver Wing

Haven't ridden in 20 years (and don't plan to)

In the fall of 1974 a really good friend had to leave town for an extended period and he needed to raise some traveling cash... I offered him the loan of a $1000.00 and he graciously accepted under one condition... He was the very proud owner of a 1967, 650 BSA Lightning... He insisted that I hold on to the Bike and use it as if it was mine, giving me a signed title to hold on to till he returned...
I mentioned it was the fall of the year and I only rode the bike a couple of times till weather no longer permitted... I had never really been bitten by the bike bug, but I enjoyed my time on the bike that fall... The following spring my friend returned and we slapped each other around, got loaded and I gave him the bike back and he had a rather large quantity of an illegal substance he gave me along with my $1000.00 and life was good...
My one and only lengthy motorcycle experience...

I was a certified motorcycle riding nut.

I grew up in Oklahoma where you can get a motorcycle drivers license at age 14 for a motorcycle 100 cc and under. So my first bike was a Yamaha 80 that drove the wheels off until I was 16 and got my first car, a used 1962 Chevy Impala.

Owned and raced dozens of dirt bikes in my younger days. (Yamaha, KTM, CanAm, Kawasaki, Honda, Maico, etc. My all time favorites were the (close ratio) CR Husqvarna 400 motocross bikes. Always rode open class, 400 and up bikes, liked the top end speed down the straits and the low end torque in the corners. I'm to lazy to race 125's because they required constant shifting thru the gears. But did own a couple of 250's.

Later, I really got into Observed Trials bikes. Bultaco, Montessa, Yamaha, Honda, etc. Competed in the Oklahoma / Texas state events in the Expert class.

Also always owned street bikes, Triumph, BSA, Goldwing, and a few Harley's, which are my favorite. They are not the fastest, don't handle or break the best, but that V twin rumble is like music to my ears.

Sadly, I haven't owned a bike for over 20 years. I keep thinking about going to the HD dealership and picking one up. But common sense and age keep rearing its ugly head.

Damn, I sure miss riding....... :(

Just this one. It's my first. Got a sportster to, but gave it to my son. I like this one. It's very neglected but I'm replacing and polishing as I get the money. Currently not running. Blah.

I bought my cousin his harley soft tail and that fucker never paid me back..

He died 10 years ago.

Bridgestone 200
Yamaha R5C (less well known than the 1974 RD350, but the same bike)
Kawasaki Mach III (500 two-stroke triple)
[30 year hiatus]
Honda 700
Honda ST1100 (2)
Honda PC800 (2)
Yamaha Venture Royale
Honda Magna 750
Kawasaki Nomad (2)
Honda 1500 Goldwing
Kawasaki Vaquero
Honda 1800 Goldwing

It hadn't occurred to me that I've had two of so many bikes.

Fact is, I just get tired of them after a couple years. My wife USED TO say to me, "Rather than buying a bike every two years, why don't you just get what you really want and keep it?" Then I told her that what I REALLY wanted was to own several bikes at a time. She don't ask me that anymore.

I will never know why I gave him the money, I had it. ..

I never "loan" money to my family. Saves a lot of drama. Now, loaning to some dude on the Internet, me for instance would be wise and gracious. I need like $30,000 for a bike.
