Befriending someone you KNOW broke the law years earlier is OK....
But to befriend someone who subesequently, and without your knowledge, breaks the law makes you an evil doer as well.

Why dont you just say this...

If you are a democrat you are uber ethical and superior
If you are a republican, you are the cause of all ills and evils.
