Mitch McConnell Filibuster's Himself

there is no sense in treating them with any respect.

They dont EVER return it and dont have ANY respect for facts.

redicule is correctly directed at them

Which is why you are so well loved around here.

How about that ol' chestnut: "I may not agree with what you say, but I will lay down my life for your right to say it".

I don't like the opinions of many of my own friends..but neither do I think they are bad people for holding those views.

This is America..and we should be able to express ourselves freely.

I dont mind hearing stupid people say stupid things.

I do raise a ruckus and shoot down historically failed ideas used as policy.

If they didnt try to make their stupid ideas distroy everything and then blame the people who told them they were stupid ideas i wouldnt even bother them.

They can say whatever they want.

i will always call stupid stupid and prove its stupid with facts

OOOOooookay.

But I really think if you are going to call folks "stupid" you should rethink your spelling.

:D

Thanks, Mitch. That's one thing you did well...

LOL. Ol' Mitch tried to be too clever by half, and it backfired on him.

That is a good thing, and demonstrates beautifully that the GOP won't take yes for an answer if it involves an honest vote.

Actually despite what the OP likes to claim you can make this stuff and Huffington Post frequently does or at the very least takes it out of context and distorts it bet you guys aren't sorry little prince Harry Reid didn't change the filibuster rules now aren't you?

Can't make this one up and the context is quite clear. The responses so far equals butthurt.

the fact Republicans are not defending this BS says a lot. they know whats going on here, their 4 years of being the party of NO just completely backfired.

Im completely ashamed to even think this really happened. What a spiteful, hateful bunch the GOP has turned out to become, shocker.

Im surprised some right wing hack has not labeled C-Span a liberal propaganda network. thats probably next.

Mitch McConnell Filibuster's Himself: Apparently McConnell now wants a 2/3 majority "fillibuster proof" vote in the Senate to pass the legislation that he, himself, proposed - stranger than fiction!

Based on this week's performance in the Senate, McConnell has provided ample evidence he isn't smart enough to parley his estimated wealth from $3.7 million in 2004 to $27.2 million in 2010, based on his government salary of $193 400. That's an increase of 786% in 6 years for an average of 131% annually - with 4 of those 6 years occuring during the greatest economic recession since 1929.

Anything too good to be true usually is and by any standard a 131% return on investments during a recession defies logic!

You would think he would be smart enough to at least get one of his fellow R's to filibuster it for him...jeez.

Sometimes when you play politics, you get burned. He deserves it in this case.

Ha :clap2:

What a joke the GOP keeps being..

WASHINGTON -- A move to embarrass Democrats backfired on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell Thursday as the Kentucky Republican proposed a vote on raising the nation's debt ceiling -- then filibustered it when the Democrats tried to take him up on the offer.

On Thursday morning McConnell had made a motion for the vote on legislation that would let the president extend the country's borrowing limit on his own. Congress would then have the option to disapprove such hikes, in a fashion similar to one that McConnell first suggested during last year's standoff over the debt ceiling.

The minority leader apparently did not think Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) would take him up on his offer, which would have allowed McConnell to portray President Barack Obama's desire for such authority as something even Democrats opposed.

Reid objected at first, but told McConnell he thought it might be a good idea. After Senate staff reviewed the proposal, Reid came back to the floor and proposed a straight up-or-down vote on the idea.

McConnell was forced to say no.

With all the problems facing this country, Republicans just can't stop playing games. And they are behind most of the problems. It's terrible.
