I remember an unplanned visit to Czechoslovakia and during the delay till we could leave the overwhelming feeling of being followed. It was most unnerving.

We don't live in society like that in the west. Tourism is a vital part of our economy. We expect the right to be tourist around the world as well. Egotistical but true.

Now it seems from the news that we are not safe at home or away.

Life changed when hijacking became part of the terrorist repertoire and foreigners were targeted by kidnappers.

With 24/7 global news in an instant, terrorist get far more that 15 minutes of fame and can wield much more power to both recruit and profit.
 
Can't say I'm surprised.

Paris was the first followed by Mali. They will be attacking all over the world.

Sure hope our intelligence agencies are on the ball.
