Memorial Day 2012

Memorial Day is the one Day that we honor all those brave men and women who through out our History made the Supreme Sacrifice for our nation.

For me, it is a solemn day of recognition for those who gave their lives for our country. Closer to my heart are those I fought along side of in Vietnam with the 2nd Plt. C Co. 1st Bn 4th Marines. I have never forgotten you nor will I ever.

Semper Fi stinger. I don't need a bunch of politicians to declare a day of remembrance to get votes and stimulate the economy with "memorial day sales". I celebrate my other birthday every November 10th and I fly the Stars and Stripes every day.

I love to read and watch historical media dealing with the military history of the United States of America. It motivated me to want to be a soldier, that and my family's history of military service which reaches back to the War for Independence.
Thank you for your sacrifice and honorable duty to your nation, and thank all active duty service members.
