I was referring to the fact that 69% of Americans now disapprove of the job George Bush has done as president. No amount of flag waving can fool the American people this time.

The options seem to be raising taxes to pay for the spending, or reducing taxes and borrowing to pay for the spending.

Dumbass... Go read the thread title and read the OP. It had nothing to do with George Bush. There's a big difference in bringing up Mac and George. Consider Mac was in the OP. You can get over yourself and just accept the fact that many on these threads have have no frickin intelligence and think if all else fails, they can post something bad about Georgie Porgie and seem like they know what they're talking about and are involved in politics...when in reality, they can't even muster the knowledge to wage a decent debate in a thread without resorting to "George Bush is bad".

Almost every position, actually. Gov sponsored health care, iraq withdrawl, removing tax breaks for the rich, talking to our enemies, more attention to public education, the list could go on and on.

Bush is the Chairman of the GOP? First I heard of that. He is a representative of of the GOP.

You cannot use Bush's tenure to determine what another fours years of a GOP President will bring. Does that mean I can judge all Democratic candidates by Carter's four years? Oh wait ... I do. I left teh Democratic Party because of him.

I disagree. Obama's just wording it differently, claiming it's different, and getting more positive media coverage.

There is no real difference between what he's saying and McGrampa is saying on Iraq. Obama has already re-postured to state we can't just yank troops out, and his withdrawal timeline was actually proposed by al-Maliki. Obama's just claiming it. In the end, we're going to stay as long or short as we have to and both candidates are saying that.

Lazy copout huh? I'd say it's more a matter of age. Obama's nothing new. I've lived through these promises before and the outcome is always the same.

It is however delusional to believe he can deliver things he can't. Carter tried that rogue President with a plan routine and ended up not being supported by a Congress his own party dominated.

He is a liar if he says that, He is proposing a SS tax increase.and a Medicare/medicade tax increase, and an increase of the capitol gains tax. all of those will effect MILLIONS of people who make less than 250k. Not to mention the fact that for the most part it is the people who make over 250k that Employ everyone else. So his New taxes on the "rich" with have a direct negative effect on Job creation and our economy. The Capitol gains tax increase will have an even more direct negative effect on our Economy.

Also he is lying because he will let the Bush tax Cuts expire, and despite the lies told about those all the time, Everyone got some sort of tax cut out of those. Yes it is true the rich got more, but everyone got something. Allowing them to expire is indeed a tax increase. He is simply using samantics when he claims it is not a tax increase, because when they expire, your taxes will go up!!

I do not expect any of you partisan Democrats to agree with me on any of this, and I will not argue with you about it. It is simple economics, and an undeniable fact as far as I am concerned, and wasting time arguing with poeple who will refuse to accept reality is a waste of time IMO.
