Those of you who support Obama please help me.

What is it about this man that you like so well that you would elect him to the most powerful position on earth. Is it his two years as a junior senator, his pastor that he now rejects, his (as far as you can go to the left) radical friends that like blowing up buildings, the great Jesse Jackson icon that would like to be a surgeon and the list goes on.

I know that McCain is an honorable war veteran, has a strong tolerance for pain and has a few more years of government experience but that's not enough for me to vote for him. I could list a lot of positive character that I think would make him a good President. But this is post is not about McCain it's about Obama's character and leadership as president.

I want to hear from the people and not the New York Times, Moveon.org and TV talking heads.

So give me your best shot.

Leadership qualities. He has captivated the attention of this country, as well as the world. He has proven to be more than capable of bringing those with differing backgrounds together to unite towards a common goal. When in Germany, he drew the interest of the world and for the brief moment of his speech, the world was on America's side again. He is a leader that extends himself to everyone. He is willing to work across party lines. He is willing to meet with our allies, and our enemies. Barack is a man of integrity, and has shown us nothing to think otherwise. He does not follow money. He does not follow fame. He follows his beliefs in justice for all. He has earned his position in politics, against many odds. I feel like Barack Obama is the right president for the right time in our nation's history.

He is also presents a different face of America to the world.... a multicultural, multiracial face. He is bright, charismatic, and wellspoken.

I don't see how that matters to the world. His culture is American. His race is irrelevent to the rest of the world. McCain is also bright, charismatic, and wellspoken.

"He has captivated the attention of this country" As I recall he only captivated less than half of the lefties in the country like yourself and non of the righties. So that's less than a fourth if I did my math right.

"as well as the world" I think you need to charify yourself. It's all the other socialist in the world.

"Barack is a man of integrity" Is that what his pastor of over twenty 20 thinks of him. A man of integrity.

"He does not follow fame. He follows his beliefs in justice for all." Of couse he doesn't follow fame. What is he famous for. I know a lot that he's not famous for.

"When in Germany, he drew the interest of the world and for the brief moment of his speech, the world was on America's side again." Oh, so you received emails/phone calls from all the people in the world telling you that.

"He does not follow money." He just likes the have a lot of it.

Nice Speech.:clap2:

He's not handing over our courts to the religious right....

he's smart enough to formulate policy....

mostly....

he's not more of the same disasterous failed policies of the last two terms. McCain is.

That in no way reflects on McCain's honor. It just means he shouldn't be president.

"He is bright, charismatic, and wellspoken." So are most preachers I know especially my pastor. But that doesn't qualify him to be president.

Thanks for your opinion.

Oh, sorry akaiaka, I didn't know this was going to be a flame thread. I would have made my post more viral and condescending.

We have already seen how this matters to the world. He is already more popular worldwide than any president since JFK.

If Obama and McCain were the only two people on the ballot I would vote for Obama for a very simple reason. McCain's yea on HJ 114: A joint resolution to authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against Iraq. Obama never wanting to vote for the resolution, and saying so at the time, automatically makes him more qualified and a better decision maker. I'm not too bright and I knew from my couch it was a going to be a nightmare and the dumbest decision possible. McCain still doesn't realize it and he's going to be president? GTFOH. :cuckoo:

With that said, I wouldn't vote for God if He ran as a democrat or republican.

Not only that... Obamas concerns with occupation and nation building came true as well.. this shows a hightened level military and international relational knowledge..

He represents change for our current regime. McCain does not. The world views Obama as our second chance to make up for the last 8 years. He represents unity and many ideals that are universals around the world.

Most other countries are way more racist than us, so they really wouldn't have any reason to care about the pigments of our president's skin.

No he has captivated your attention. He only leads McCain by 6 in the best polls, by only 1 in some. real clear Politics does an average of several polls and they have obama up by only 2.5 points. So he clearly has not captivated the attention of the whole nation. If he had his lead in the polls would be far greater.

Clearly at least 44% of Amricans, are not sold on Obama, and have not been captivated by him. Many people are Captivated by the fact that a Black man is doing so well in the Election, but that does not mean Obama did anything to do it.

You can not argue with the polls, the nation is just as divided on this election as any Election in the past. So how exactly has be captivated the attention of the country, and how is that in anyway a qualification to be president in the first place.

Americans attentions can be captivated by many things, it does not mean they will vote for it.

However I do not know why I am telling you this, I like how cocky and sure of yourselves Democrats are getting. It usually leads to a dissapointing loss :)

Does anyone else have to stop themselves from saying "Obamayomama?" I don't know why it is that I always want to say that, but I do. It's like some weird patterning thing in my brain....

Polls are notoriously wrong. Not to mention more people have cell only households and only voter records are considered that have their addresses verified against the UPS database.. this is only done after each election.. (i.e. Newly Registered people are not included in the sample). A good portion of the "Fired Up" crowd are not being counted...
