Exactly my point as I'm taking the same risk so it'll be my own fault if I get it while eating peanut butter just like it would be if I got it after eating cookie dough.

Well, sometimes it's the fault of the person who knowingly eats a food that can be contaminated. In my case, we figured out that it was deli fried chicken that was undercooked -- definitely not my fault.
