Could be directed energy, a giant radar, or any of a number of military or scientific things.

Maybe an accidental spill. The Marshall Islands are used as an impact zone for ballistic missiles being tested but never with actual warheads. The Marshalls are heavily populated by Micronesian standards. If this is real, this should be interesting and likely not in a good interesting way.

This is all over the airwaves, so to speak, so looks extremely unlikely to be a hoax. But I could find no further info. Robert W is a pilot. Perhaps he knows better places to look.

Note the construction notices. Radioactive sources are occasionally used in construction for neutrographing, but I can't imagine one producing an alarm like that.

The Marshalls has thousands of square miles of military controlled space. Why would they conduct dangerous testing on a public airport?

Can't say. That's your job to get to the bottom of. ;)

That said the number of notifications over the past couple of years would indicate testing. Powerful radars can cook commercial aircraft electronics pretty quick.

But they don't often reach lethal levels, particularly when the exposed person is no closer than they could get in an aircraft and is inside said aircraft.

Nor would it be. One might could view real time flights around the area if so inclined. I remember

there was a site like that a long time ago. Similar to the real-time hacking site.
